I couldn't tell you the brand but it looks like a track suit or jogging suit. Jogging / running was just gaining in popularity in the early 70's and these tpyes of track suits were very popular so I am sure this was done to show Scaramanga as a fit individual. I haven't watched that film for a long time but didn't his "lair" have a weight room or exercise room?

yes you are quite right ... the hit man does confront scaramanga in the gymnasium area of his lair so to speak..

I am finding very similar styles and colours but unfornunatly they are all two peice suits with a zipper top and trousers separate ..

i feel that this out fit on display would look outstanding as SCARAMANGA is my all out 100% favorite Bond villian of all time. many come close but hes my ultimate bond villian .. Yes I could get his white suit and black tie / or the blue shirt and blue trousers he wore at the end in the duel .. but I think the pre titles outfit would look very unique. and great next to my Golden gun and props from the film .. I am going to make a great replica of nick nacks mask to show next to the gun and I have the golden bullet cigarette packet

and yes I am even going as far as getting a dummy crow / raven bird to hold my Golden Gun on a red Box stand... I know ... I know .. attention to detail... LOL

but yes many thanks for the info on the track suit .. I will let anyone know if I find a replica...

also any more info would be greatly appreciated

thanks guys and gals as I said there are some of you out there on these forums ... funny that ...very rare a true female Bond fan. going by how many astonishing women were in the bond films you think there would be more...

I'll bump this up since I'm curious.

Also, while he's wearing his white suit, what are the specifics? People here are always posting what Bond wore, but what about the villians?!

In my opinion it is not a Rolex, just look at it your self, Scaramangas watch is much thinner, and is a fixed bracelet ie no lugs, it is a fine thin watch, I think just because he is a millionaire everyone thinks it should be a Rolex but in my opinion it is more like a Sekonda with a brown face.

I see what you are saying Kan, but the screen watch the link pattern of the bracelet continues on to the surround of the face, all one thing.

Yes, I think you are right. After I wrote that I had received information from both you and Bondtoys, if I remember correctly. Both of you said, if memory serves, that it looks more like the less exclusive Cellini version. I would tend to agree. So, I won't try to pretend, I own my mistakes. Nevertheless, to my mind that version is sort of a less expensive version of the original King Midas made for more average budgets, although two separate models.

Quite! However, for what it's worth, I think Bondtoys and Kan are correct.

Kan is right just need the gold metal strap. Its obvious its his watch as the pattern on the face of the watch echoes the design of what is on the golden gun lighter. All got that suttle but intricate quailty design! Nice pic bye the way.

Yeah would have to agree, I just found a pic of one with a nice dark brown face.

What I recall is having seen Scaramanga with 2 different watches on several different shots.

DG I have great respect for people, who are great enogh to admit, if they have made a mistake. Does not happen too often.

However, in my opinion, style-wise the King Midas Rolex would have been the perfect fit for Scaramanga. Much better than the one in the movie! I remember in the early 80s a King Midas was about 60% more expensive than a golden Rolex Day-Date and only few people with selected taste had the guts and the money to get one of these!

In my opinion one of the greatest watches, which have ever been built and a feast for all the senses. It's incredibly heavy as all the components are solid (there is nothing hollow on the bracelet). Alone the specially designed presentation box had a value of a small used car.

    I will never forget the feel of this watch, when I came across with my first King Midas, it's burned forever in my memory! -{

By the way, I am still not convinced, if the Rolex was an early Explorer, when Ian Fleming mentioned one in OHMSS.

He owned several watches and in my opinion the Explorer is not heavy enough to be used as a knuckleduster.

It's true, IF had an early explorer in his personal possession and he outfitted Bond with items of his preference. But who knows? Perhaps Fleming had an early submariner (with numerals on the dial such as the 6200 displayed on page 26 in the book "Vintage Rolex Sports Models") or was dreaming about having one and this was his true inspiration for his choice.

    Wait!
Maybe I'll write article about this and call myself a researcher and Bond Watch expert. For sure someone will then be buying postcards from me as well :D
