JUST GOT MY HANDS ON A VINTAGE MAROON/WINE JUMPER FROM SLAZENGER. I WAS WONDERING IF IT IS THE SAME AS THE ONE WORN IN GOLDFINGER. IT IS DARK MAROON IN COLOUR WITH A YELLOW SLAZENGER MOTIF. IT IS V NECK LONG SLEEVE IN DESIGN. THE LABEL SAYS SLAZENGER 100% ACRYLIC COURTAULDS CORTELLE MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN. CAN ANYONE HELP ?

Wow, it seems to me you tracked down a real treasure there. I have been looking for this sweater for ages and the closest I got was maroon in a size 38 (I wear 42). I have a black one my size which is great but I'd prefer your maroon.

Vintage clothing store in NYC... looks almost new... paid 45$

I gave up on eBay for this one 2 years ago as it never came around in maroon. How much did it fetch ?

Well actually a good price -£27 plus postage so around £30 -it was just it caught me on a week when I was skint.

I've just found a chap who sells Slazenger V-necks -I've just asked him to track me a maroon one down if he can -so I'm keeping my fingers crossed at the moment.

Looks as close as we're likely to get. The logo seems smaller on Connery's sweater and looks embroidered directly onto the sweater. The modern version of the logo looks larger and like a patch sewn onto the sweater. Connery's sweater has a "heather" look while the color on the modern version is not variegated.

The contour of the contour line of the logo is black and seems not to match the movie.

I own a 1960's burgundy SLAZENGER original and this new "heritage" version is somewhat different than the one seen in the movie. As pointed out by toutbrun, the logo in the old one is not contoured in black. The logo is just plain yellow-gold with a matching color contour embroided directly on the jumper. The V neck is also thinner in the original than in the recent version. But know that this is the closest anyone is going to get to the original and if I already did not have one, I would buy this revised version in a minute...
