I tend to agree with Magnoli's interpretation of the pattern (minus that small glitch he overlooked). Looking at the high res pics I think he's nailed it.
As for present position, I was waiting for jbholsters to come through with his offer of pictures and dimensions of his old Sulka ties. As he may be busy, I'll give him another week or two - if not, in the interest of everyone here I'll move forward with Magnoli to get the process going. I'll probably use the same dimensions for this tie as the T&A ones, which seem standard fare. As for the weave, Magnoli and I will mock up a photoshop sample most likely to see if you guys agree with it.
I also want to see if Indy can make the ties slightly heavier this time.
There was an error with the boxes being alternating green and gold... I guess it was a miscommunication between Indy and his tiemaker, but he is aware of it and says it will be addressed in the final product (that's what prototypes are for!).
Also, Indy feels the pattern should be at a smaller scale... maybe 90% of what it currently is. I agree, because when I compare the prototype to the original image I'm seeing the pattern tile more frequently at corresponding locations.
Finally, Indy says he will create a slightly heavier tie this time around by using both silk and wool in the weave. If anyone has any objections to this let me know.
Any critiques? Now's the time to put your 2 cents in...
And this swatch pic I think you'll need to tilt your head diagonally in order to see what it would look like on the tie.
Still a prototype at this point, so I still need everyone's feedback before we develop the final model. Production time, once we can agree on the 'specs', is probably about a month.
As for next tie... that's way too far on the horizon at this point. I'm leaning to working on the TND copper tie. I'll defer to the DAD blue circle tie if someone provides me of a high res scan of it...........
Wow, that was quick. Glad to see the reinforced stitching on the neck.. That looks right. I didn't remember the green diamonds in mine, and the pics at the beginning of the thread suggest that the diamond patterns were all the same color as well.
My only other suggestion is to try and get the tips of the pattern to line up with the point on the tie a little better.
For the purists, unfortunately the tie was made with a black inner lining as opposed to the green lining on the original tie (and which I requested). It's a minor quibble, hope no one's disappointed by that. The rest of the tie looks spot on with all the details I arranged for. Can't wait to get mine!
Btw, I understand the interest in the DAD blue circle tie (as well as the TND copper tie), but I'm too busy to get into another tie project for the time being, as I just started a PhD program this year. If someone wants to take the reigns feel free to contact me if my previous experience can be of any help.
Received today. First impression is that it looks great. Well done to everyone involved (Urhash,Indy), you should feel very proud. I've waited a long, long time to track down this tie! Anyone else received it?

Just wanted to let you know the project is alive and well.
jbholsters just gave me an 'info dump' on a lot of helpful details, which I will collate and pass on to Indy shortly.

What is the next tie project ? (I'm hoping for the DAD blue tie with large circles...)

Yea the green thing was just a miscommunication, Indy's definitely aware of it and assures me it won't be in the final product.
I've been looking for this tie for a long time!
Thank you very much for your effort.
Greetings
Marc
Anyone got news on when the GE tie will be available? I am loving the TND and TWINE ties, in fact I am at work now wearing the TWINE one.
