My mates father is a James Bond collector, He has a massive collection of all sorts to do with James Bond. He says he has the ORIGINAL GUN From the film The Man With The Golden Gun and hundreds more items including (WAIT FOR IT) A TAXI (REAL LIFE SIZE)(From what james bond film i donot know as i was only on the phone to him for a few min as i was working. which he bought many years ago. Well his father is very old now and wants to sell his memorobbilia and give it to his gran children. He reckons his collection SPLIT UP will be worth a fortune. (he doesnt need the £ BUT SAYS HIS GRANDCHILDREN WILL BE BETTER WITH IT THAN HIM. I am going round to see his collection tommorow, and IF!! All true how do you suggest i sell it for him? ebay? auction etc! Will get more info tommorow, but the real gun (whats the chances????)

your best bet will be Ebay.
I would suggest that an inventory list is done (maybe with some photos) and you post details here. There's enough epxerts on here to give you an opinion (indeed, there may be some people here who are interested in some of the pieces).

but is the fellows name John ?
very nice guy to speak to ..... genuine and down to earth....
I am coming to see his collection in a week or 2 ... see if there is anything that is of interest to me....
Please let me know were in Scotland you are and please check out my website.... Scotland's only Bond props site..... lol
Well as far as I know ... it is
I would'nt bother with ebay just yet becuase the person I am coming over to see the collection with might take the lot ..... amongst things I would be interested in...also

The SD Studios golden gun is worth circa £1500 - £2500 in the current climate I would estimate.
As a collector of autographs, I've looked at the framed picture with all the autographs on and I'm afraid most are forgeries, which is a shame.
There's also some unusual props in there, like the pilot's helmet and the old cello case.
He would be better off splitting them rather than selling as a bulk lot in my opinion.
a genuine, and very accomplished Bond collector...in Scotland!....
OK Disco, i've been through the pics and b*ggered if I can see a cello case!... B-)
unless u mean the black fabric WA2000 case?
However, if I'm not mistaken, the Helmet is Chinese fighter pilot circa TND....(or maybe russian circa Golden eye, but I doubt)
BTW, the WA2000 is a bit special....
Walther only made a small no of BB gun versions, albeit with actual WA200 casing and parts...
This is one of them.
It's as rare as a blue penny black.....
The eagle eyed will guess where it came from...
Over the years I've watched John buy items...i'm only guessing but I'd suspect his collection is enormous, and a single buyer would have to want the full range
Props
Replicas
Models
Toys
Autographs
objet d'art
books
etc..
There arn't many of us about....most specialise...
In this sense I'd strongly suggest breaking it up and seeking serious offers on each section or even piece....
good luck
Indeed, there are some that do look the real deal, but as DV says, most are forgeries.
Some are that bad that they are unidentifiable! The Honor Blackman, Ursula Andress, Sean Connery, Judi Dench, Richard Kiel and Roger Moore are all definetaly forgeries.
Anyhow, nice collection.
Ebay ist cheap and easy and gets out to millions of viewers... Bonhams Christies etc are only interesting for rarer pieces and will need relevant paperwork to list with them.
I would definately not sell it as a bulk lot as you will only get a fraction of what its really worth and as all collectors are out for a good deal they will always offer you a fraction for a piece than what its worth.
Good luck with selling and hope you make a fortune from it!
