So I, um... "bumped" into this, for lack of a better word?

I had absolutely no idea Cavill was plastered all over London walls (otherwise I would've travelled to London immediately, just two hours by plane from here, piece of cake :)))

But, gosh. If this man isn't James Bond, I do not know who is. He has a RIDICULOUS (as in gorgeous, unbelievable) sense of style... and an incredible elegance and sexiness when he walks (the casting directors actually said one of the reasons he was chosen is that he has great "presence" and that gentleman style, that "something" when he walks. *swoon* ahem.)

I really think this IS Bond. I also want to marry him, but that's another matter :)) :)) Seriously. You listen to me Barbara Broccoli? THIS is Bond style in this video. Girl included by the way, she's a Dutch model and she is gorgeous. And she's wearing an actually classy, sexy, elegant dress. Like a Bond girl should. Not a creased horrible Burberry trench! But Henry... I am weak in the knees. I swear I'd camp outside the movie theater waiting for Bond release the next day if he was Bond :)) :))

    Here:

    And Bond plus Bond girl:

By the way, I also finally found a recent Henry Cavill interview, where he himself, upon specific question, says that BOTH the Superman and the James Bond role "came very close" for him. I swear I could hit Barbara Broccoli right now. Yeah sorry Daniel Craig, you're a good guy and all... but you've got nothing on Pierce for me and you've got less than nothing on Henry at this point :)) Seriously, not only in terms of acting (and also about the voice comment again, are we kidding? Cavill has a fantastic voice) but also in terms of style, not to mention looks (swoon) this guy has it all to be Bond. He's my perfect next Bond. I can dream of Bond again now :))

Hi!! How are you Sir?? Great to hear from you! :D Oh yes. We will aaaalways agree on that. I am rather shameless in my promotion of him and also, I fear, in my drooling over him ;% :)) The man is absolute Bond perfection. Well, to me at least. Gorgeous, masculine, sexy, with that serious edge to him. I also heard him say in interview that had he not been an actor, he would've joined the forces. Or otherwise pursued his interest in Egyptology :)) Well, I don't know how much more perfect it can get... even in real life, the man has the Bond CV :)) He's shooting an action movie right now. They were in Madrid and in Spain on the coast for a while. I think if that one goes well (which I don't see why it shouldn't), we may have found the new Bond once Craig has finished. That, or Barbara Broccoli will have a taste of my stilettos. :))

Oh, Jeez Alle, please don't call me 'sir.' As we used to say to such things in the military: "I work for a living!" :) I sincerely hope we can get back to 'dear' and 'darling,' eventually :D May take a while, I know...but I'm as patient as I am stubborn :))

Still and all---though I've no desire to marry the man ;) ---I definitely still see him as the Bond of the future. Whenever Craigger bows out (whether it's after #23 or #24), I think Mr. Cavill will be ready B-) What film is he shooting in Spain? I lived in Spain (Zaragoza) for 2 years back in the '80s, and thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Did Al' mean 'sir' as in deference to military rank? Or as in 'Would you like to step outside sir, you're causing a scene?' :D

:)) I just wanted to show respect you know, not to keep a distance! :)) If my dear works better, then my dear it is :D

I was trying to find some shooting photos for you as there have been some (namely, him shirtless for us women to drool over :))) published on major web sites. There were some where he had bruises and blood (fake, for filming reasons) following an action scene. I'm the one who needs to be patient and stubborn here because I can't find them :)) Give me a minute (or 10) and I'll find :D The movie title is "The Cold Light of Day". It's about an American man (I presume he will have to fake accent) who discovers a conspiracy while trying to rescue his family from kidnappers in Spain.

Got them! The ones where he is bloody on the shirt and bruised were in Madrid. The others were near Barcelona (The ones at the beach). I remember this much because a friend of mine runs an entertainment site and I seriously considered hopping on a plane to Barcelona to go interview him :)) (And ask him to marry me :))) I checked, they were in Javea to be precise.

These are some of the ones filming at the beach (location looks great btw) they are candids in between shoots so the quality is not ideal:

And these are the ones where he's got fake bruises etc

(sorry, that smile just about kills me. Excellent extra weapon for Bond :)))

Those Dunhill ads are pure Bond at moments IMO. I really feel strongly about him getting the part. I've also seen him in the Tudors and the man can definitely act. When you manage to be believable and come off as authentic (and Bondian) even in those time pieces, that's pretty much it. :D Seriously, I think he'd be great after Craig.

Having heard his interview where he said that the Bond part came very close and that he would have joined the forces if he hadn't been an actor, I really thought he fits the part like it rarely happens. Even in real life, he fits the bill I think. And he is so naturally charming and gentleman-like in interviews I think that would help the franchise in terms of "good image/marketing", too. Not to mention a lot of young girls (teens/tweens) in the US too know him because of the Tudors, so it would be a chance to regain that type of demographic, too I think.

Did Al' mean 'sir' as in deference to military rank? Or as in 'Would you like to step outside sir, you're causing a scene?' :D

Best line never used in TLD, from the Russian PM to Brad Whitaker: (contemptuously) "The only man who calls you sir is the maitre 'd at Madame Yo Yo's..."

:)) :)) :)) that's a great reference :)) No but really, I didn't mean to cause such a stir by using the word "Sir". It was humorous and just showing appropriate respect you know? :))
The second commercial with the Bentley is cool. But I don't know if this guy has the harshness for Bond. But Brosnan took a while to really get in character.

Hi SilentSpy! I believe this is the first time I see you posting in here? If you're looking for the women perspective on Bond style and all frivolous stuff related, plus also the serious Bond stuff, this is the place. :)) Though to be honest we've all been MIA lately, me especially. Apologies for that, I'm just too busy unfortunately.

I love the Bentley one. (the girl is total Bond girl material too, IMO. And, lucky bitch :))). I think that sort of devious looks he shoots at the camera towards the end is pure Bond! :D

I'm trying to find a video where you can see him in an action scene, or anyway more dramatic, to show you he really DOES have the harshness for Bond. :D

One example here (It's from The Tudors). Not action but more of a "serious" feel to it. He has longer hair and a beard because for script reasons the character needed to age.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ysnvqmqBAQ&feature=related

Seriously, Cavill should hire me as his publicist :)) (no way, I couldn't ask him to marry me and I'd have to be professional :)) )

Anyway in terms style, presence, manliness to me this guy is the perfect Bond girl dream. Also, since this is the Bond girl watercooler after all... love both his tux and the dress on the girl in the ad. Take notes, Bond production, please. The last few Bond girls have been horrid IMO in terms of both looks AND style. We need someone way classier and more elegant. And possibly with some serious backbone, too (well I'm demanding with Bond girls too):

    :)) Lexi hi my dear!

Oui, je suis totalement amoureuse de Henry Cavill. :)) Guilty as charged.. I am absolutely in love with the man. To be fair, I'm far from being the most obsessed.. if you have a look at comments under his youtube videos both about the Tudors and not, I swear you're gonna have quite a few laughs :)) I laughed in particular at one comment which I found hilarious:

God was showing off when he made Henry

    :)) :)) :)) :))

"I think you lurrrrrve him" is true, but there is one man I luuuurve more. And that is Michael Vartan, my one and only. He'll never be Bond though, so no worries. :))

So he 's 27 now...a couple more Craig films and he'll be suitably aged and ready to go, I think.

Ahahah I knew you would say that! :)) Truth is he looks bigger than he normally does.. he is plenty naked in the Tudors (and I mean naked, all clothes off), and he looks mighty fine. I'm not sure whether he was relaxing and pigging out on Spanish food (I know he LOVES Italian cuisine, he said so in an interview, so big points for me since I love to cook! :)) ) or whether those are just particularly bad shots. He certainly doesn't look his usual. I don't think he'd film a scene for a movie without being in his usual form. Unless the movie requires him to look like that of course :)) With personal trainers, they make them lose whatever weight needed and have them fully muscular in 3 weeks. Proteins, gym everyday.. at that age and with those genes they react quick. I know because they did the same with Paul Walker and a friend of mine was the trainer. :D (and Walker was in far worse shape than Cavill)

I think he's ready to go any minute :)) The way he looks very much depends on how he's dressed and how long his hair is, and on facial hair too. Short hair and stubble, or the look he has in that Dunhill commercial, look just fine for Bond right now as far as I'm concerned :)) The fact Craig will do at least one more movie I think is long enough for him to anyway be perfectly ready when it's time. :D Let's just hope that time does come! :))

Yeah, first time here. I just noticed an interesting active topic with a cool ad. I was hoping the producers would put the Bentley in Casino Royale. Even though I prefer the DBS. Yet, there are probably too many people with standard Bentleys anyway these days.

I actually liked the women in Casino Royale. But the two in Quantum were both forgettable. It was probably their character more than looks though.

You make an interesting point about Bentleys. I agree with you that nowadays there are too many people who don't appreciate elegance that have access to stuff that should instead be used by people who can do that with class. Unfortunately those are the "perks" of modern civilization :)) And I don't mean this in a snub-like way at all. I just think there's way too much vulgarity connected to the display and use of objects or clothes or to going to places that should be (in theory) epitomes of class and elegance.

Re: women. You're right, I should have specified that it was mainly for QoS. I thought Caterina Murino was the perfect example of Bond girl in CR... stunningly beautiful, elegant, strong. I'm proud she's Italian :)) I do not like Eva Green, but her style was certainly far better than that of the girls in QoS. I think the writing made the characters forgettable for sure in QoS, but I also think the looks didn't help much. I thought both had nothing that made them really stand out in terms of looks. And if you read back on this thread, man, we have quite a few fashion missteps for them :)) I don't know, I think I may be too demanding because I really am still hung up on Pam Bouvier. Obviously I looooved the character, she had beautiful dresses throughout the movie and a fantastic style, she was gorgeous... and she married Richard Gere :)) (saying this for other women since I am not one of those who swoon over Gere at all, but he undoubtedly is a sex-symbol, so...) I think Murino is the last one who completely satisfied me. She's always beautiful and elegant regardless of Bond. I've seen and read interviews to her and she's also quite a bright woman, which is pleasant given the average these days :))

If Cavill becomes Bond (please Bond God, help us :)) ) I will be one impossibly demanding bitch with Bond girls :)) The one in the ad with him is actually excellent material, though. I can't right now think of an actress I'd like to see as Bond girl with him, but I will come up with some names. Only one that comes to mind right now is Taylor Cole. She is on a new show called "The Event". I think she's a beautiful girl, AND she can also act, she's really good on that show.

Could be that the role is an 'everyman'-type thing, and there's some benefit from having him be a bit more 'mortal' in appearance :) Not that I'd throw stones. At 48 years old, I'm 6'4" and 240 lbs, and will never be mistaken for Superman, Batman or James Bond :p

Hey I wouldn't complain about such numbers though. It's good enough :D

I honestly don't know what the deal was with those photos. I'm pretty sure he'll look better in the movie than he did in the photos :)) That said, he certainly would be put under the supervision of a personal trainer for Bond, and he'd be fit as required. The fact he was also nearly picked for Superman and Batman clearly shows that normally he's in far better shape than what he looks like in those photos :))

So who would you guys vote for as Bond girl for the next Craig one and who would you see as Bond girl with Cavill? This is typical Bond Girl Style Watercooler chatter. :D

As for Cavill, sorry Ale but he just doesn't get my fires burning. Maybe when he's a bit older and a bit more 'worn in ' :))

I've developed a bit of a girl crush on Rupert Penry Jones lately. Not my usual type as he is a tad 'pretty' but I thought he would have made quite a good Bond. Alas, at 40 he's probably going to be too old by time Dan hangs up his gun. Could make an interesting M though.

    Hi Steph! :D

It's ok, Cavill has so many female fans we can definitely do without adding to the list :)) :)) :))

Aw, look at Timothy getting the love he deserves! :x As for Rupert Penry Jones, I agree he could make an interesting M. Not Bond though for me. He's too old already and too blond as well. Next one better be a dark-haired guy like the character is supposed to be. And young and hot. Plus masculine, stylish and ready to kick ass. In short, Cavill :))

Quick update because I finally found the whole batch of photos of Cavill at the beach this past October in Spain. Turns out a few just are really bad shots, because when you see him in decently angled shots (front etc)... the muscles show :)) I knew it wasn't possible that he was filming while being out of shape. Also, it looks like all of the photos were taken from way afar, which often ruins proportions in photos.

Anyway, this made me feel a lot better. Not sure Loeffs will feel equally better, but... :))

Good strong jawline, which is one of the first things I noticed about him (and which is why he was considered for Superman and Batman, no doubt!). As for the shirtless pics, he looks fine...just a little specialisation in his workouts, more cardio, fewer carbohydrates and he'll be good to go. Good apparent upper body strength...let's see him when he's 48 :))

:)) :)) damn right! I'm sure he won't be able to match you :D

Agree about the jawline, and yeah big feature for Superman and Batman so surely one of the reasons why he was considered. =)) yes he can definitely further improve, and I'm sure he would if he had to play Bond. He was more muscular during The Tudors.

By the way, we talked about a scene on the other thread and I apologize for not having been able to find a decent and full cut of a scene where, I swear he is playing Bond at the time of Henry VIII (funny fact, the girl with him is Gabrielle Anwar, who plays Fiona on Burn Notice...). So what I'm going to do, since I have the episode downloaded in HD, is cut that part and put it on youtube myself :D I want Loeffs to see that decently. Since he's the only one who's supporting Cavill with me :)) (there are others too, just not posting between yesterday and today LOL).

Will post link as soon as ready (if I ever manage to LOL)

    And here it is! :D

I could see Cavill as Bond (though I've never seen him in anything...which I shall have to change ASAP), but I do agree that we'd have to wait til he's just a tad older :p

    Oh hi! :D

Aww more Bond girls posting, I'm all proud :D I am glad you can see him as Bond. The above link (in my previous post) is a little example of how he CAN have that "cocky/sexy" Bond attitude :)) I crack up every time I watch it! I think "Pity, I had a winning hand", in THAT situation (in the video) is sooo much of a Bond line. Him sitting at the Casino, girl standing up. TOTALLY :))

Meantime, here is a little sample of Cavill/Bond, IMO a good example:

Ahh I'm so glad you like it. Because I kinda feel weak in the knees watching that photo :)) Makes me feel better you find it pretty, too. And I sooo see Bond when I look at it (and yeah, isn't he gorgeous! He's also damn sexy. Damn him :)) ). I for sure would end up like you know, that someone in the car scene with Pierce... :)) :)) :))

The clip is fun... as I said "pity, I had a winning hand" my new favourite line :)) It's also sexy, I cut off the most explicit part though, because youtube then censors the video and it's a pain LOL (not that he loses his clothes in this one, but the movements and sounds are pretty graphic :)) )

I did watch the clip! "pity, I had a winning hand" made me laugh too.

I'll have to steal the series from my friend who is utterly OBSESSED with it (medieval archaeology geek) and see how it is :)

I liked the series, although the historical inaccuracies are like... RIDICULOUS :)) But, since I was watching it for Mr Cavill, I just pretended I didn't see them :)) But, costumes are great, actors are really good. And Cavill plays basically James Bond at the age of Henry VIII. I swear that cards scene totally looks like the dialogue between a Bond girl and Bond to me. And the "pity, I had a winning hand" part, totally looks like a line Bond would say to the girl before kissing her :)) It's the attitude he has that to me is perfect. It's that stylish-gentleman-like yet cocky attitude.

Glad you got a good chuckle out of it. And -ahem- I also think he looks like a damn fine kisser. As Bond should be. ;%

Not asking for much much are you Ale ?? :)) :))

Is Pierce aware that you have dumped him for a younger, hotter male ?? :))

Haha you'll see more of it during the series, especially in S1 when he, per Cavill's quote in interview "literally can't keep it in his pants" :)) (I loove how Cavill after saying this in interview immediately says "if you'll excuse me" :)) aww he is so cute and such a gentleman :x)

Now, on the kissing part: this is an absolutely reasonable and motivated request. Now that we're settled on it....
And they should get the girls from well known James Bond fan sites to try them out :D :D

See how us Bond girls manage to get to the point without being too obvious? :)) :)) I mean it. Three sentences and we nail the goal. Not even Bond can keep up with us :)) :))

Now, someone let Babs know about this. I have a friend or two who could tell her. And I mean seriously. Plus, she can't compete with us anyway, so either she bows out gracefully, or the deadly stilettos will take care of it :v
Not asking for much much are you Ale ?? :)) :))

    High maintenance? Me??? :)) :)) :))

Hey this is James Bond. He is supposed to be like that, so I pretend it. Especially after having had to watch Craig, who doesn't fit my bill. :))
Is Pierce aware that you have dumped him for a younger, hotter male ?? :))

Alas, haven't had a chance because I left him in Monique's lovely hands and she never reported back ever since I got my younger, hotter male :)) :)) :)) They're still on a secluded Caribbean island, with Monique showing off her La Perla bikini, I bet. :)) Win-win. Monique and I don't need to split Pierce anymore, she can take him full-time. I will still send him my love though, because I love him anyway. I am an equal-hottie-opportunity woman. :))
