Lucy Liu is most definitely one of the shiniest gems from the East! I totally agree!
Regarding Michelle Yeoh, whenever I see her, I must remember Tanaka's line in YOLT

Welcome Mr Thunderbird 2! -{ We're of course pleased to have you. I am PARTICULARLY pleased seen the above comment ) needless to say I completely agree with you. Everyone always goes on about Rhys-Meyers (the chap playing the King ) but I agree Cavill is way better. Much better screen presence, and more subtle in his acting. Then of course there are older and more experienced actors on the show who are great (like Jeremy Northam who should DEFINITELY be M to Cavill's Bond). But out of the younger male cast members as you said, he's definitely the best.
I think there are quite a few scenes on the show where he really has the Bond quality (especially given the type of character he plays, and how he interacts with women and how he becomes tough when at war, I don't know if you've seen that yet as that is only shown specifically from S2 on). I'm very pleased to hear that you see those qualities in him, too.
And of course, you would have been welcome in here regardless Especially since each one of us ladies has a different preference for Bond actors (Monique and I agree on Pierce, but seen as there's Henry I thought it fair that she should have all of Pierce and I all of Henry ) ).
Aw Thank You for that lovely welcome Alessandra! Please feel free, - friends call me Thunderbird, or TB2 for short.
Its funny you should mention the war arc - BBC2 showed the ep where King Henry and co return from their siege on Boulonge. The sub plot between the Duke of Suffolk his new lady friend is brilliant - the chemistry is there right from her initial appearance in the last episode. I also like Joley Richardson as Queen Katherine, giving Her Majesty more grace than her war hungry and somewhat lunkhead husband!
There is another actor who would be great in Bond though. - Simon Ward who plays Bishop Gardner, would make an excellent "Civil Servant" style M! Jerry Northam stikes me a bit young for the role. - Possibly another double oh, though?
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Ok Mr TB2 then!
Oh, I LOOOVED the Siege of Boulogne episodes! They were so great, and I liked them because they allowed him to show much more of an acting range. He had emotional scenes, he had war scenes with actual combat, he had scenes where he showed he was the actual leader... and I LOVE him and Isabelle. I agree the chemistry was there right from the start, I've heard Cavill comment on it and he said he didn't even know what was happening seen as he had only worked with her for one day at that point, but that he really felt comfortable working with her, and it showed!
Agree completely about Joely Richardson (who is beautiful), she is very good in the part and really does put the "regal" part in what is supposed to be Royal, right? ) I frankly never got the hype over Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, and to think they suggested HIM for Bond over Henry Cavill makes me Whoever thought he could be Bond needs to clear their thoughts IMO )
About M: YES! Simon Ward would be great too, but I think he'd work better with someone older than Cavill. I mean, Dench was M to both Brosnan and Craig and the age difference there isn't ALL that much. I think Jeremy Northam is an age-appropriate M if Cavill is to play Bond. More than that, he really has the attitude and style to be perfect in the part (check him out as the crazy Chief of Surgery on Miami Medical if you have a chance). But that said, I certainly wouldn't complain if they picked Simon Ward. Or Henry Czerny, too (the guy who played the Duke of Norfolk in season 1-2). As long as they give me Cavill as Bond! )
I also think the actress who played Jane Seymour (Annabelle Wallis) could be an interesting choice for a Bond girl? She's gorgeous and she's got that "something" going on for her. She can be determined or she can be vulnerable, she's really good. So we can have her be one of the Bond girls. For the main one, I want Minka Kelly! Man, Cavill as Bond, and her as Bond girl, definitely VERY easy on the eyes )
"Are we on coms?" (if you don't know where this is from... you've missed some really good stuff! )
Absolutely and completely right, Lexi. I'm one of those "weirdos" who wears absolutely NOTHING without lingerie. Ever. And I am a maniac for nice lingerie (I have quite a few La Perla pieces ).
Oh, I don't know.... sometimes there is a time and a place for no lingerie..... however, a strapless dress is probably not one of them
There is nothing nicer though than the feel of silk against the skin.... and somehow it just makes you feel sexier too!
(although the same can be said for the former as well.... ) Can't say I have ever worn La Perla, but I'll take your word for it. I love the range of Triumph lingerie - it's cut for the more 'hour glass' figure....and fits perfectly - which is great :x

Unless said strapless dress is from Herve Leger - given how tight those are (from what I've heard), lingerie may be optional given the additional support from the garment itself.
Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.

Oh I love the Herve Leger body con dresses. They are one of my 'wanna haves' when I can afford one. (Although it is interesting that some of them can look really tacky, yet others, hit the spot!)
And you're right vpl are almost as bad as not wearing a bra with cleavage that needs one )

Lady Rose: Gorgeous swimsuit, isn't it? Perfect for all the eye candy posed around the ubiquitous pool scenes in 007 movies who don't actually get in the water. TLD's the only one that initially comes to mind where we actually see extras (not the Bond girl herself) actually dive into the water. Such is the peril of using silk rather than nylon!
Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.
Silly question of the day: other than Christmas Jones, are there any other main Bond girls who wear shorts? Granted, I'm not sure if I'd count hotpants as shorts - no Bond girl should wear Spandex in a form that's not a swimsuit, but that's a whole other debate.
I was just wondering about this because I live in LA, and most of the female students I see around campus wear the most ghastly (if somewhat nonexistent re: length) shorts, and I can't imagine a classy Bond girl ever wearing something other than Bermuda length.
Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.

Yeah, it is fab but I'm afraid you also need that body to pull it off .... unfortunately my swim suit this year will consist of something with sturdy straps and some tummy support !!!! ) )

I could see a Bond Bunny (one of the disposable bond girls.... that is either admired from afar, or is a 5 minute fling....) in shorts... but it would have to be something like a volleyball game - or a beach type scene to pull it off....
However, the Main Bond girl - well, we need to make sure she is not in a pair of cut offs, or some hot pants.... not quite the right couture - however, I liked the laid back desert look that Camille had.... it was functional yet cool.
The more classic style knee length shorts, tailored, with a crisp white shirt however would look good - but that was in about 2 years ago.... and it's all about 50's style dresses now - so who knows what they will decide when they start filming late this year

Lady Rose - if it makes you feel any better, I used to be a competitive swimmer, and I still feel self-conscious about swimsuits! Competitive swimmers typically wear one-piece swimsuits that are a size smaller to minimize "drag" from the water; combined with the swim caps and goggles, we look rather silly .
Lexi - definitely have to second the look you've described! I could see the Main Bond girl wearing a white, tailored, knee-length shirtdress as a compromise, but most likely for a beach scene she'll be wearing an embellished bikini (some kind of intricate beading or embroidery along the edge) with a gauzy scarf if we know the wardrobe department ). I do think that Domino's black and white number has to be my favorite Bond girl swimsuit - classy but definitely not boring.
Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.
Do you girls like these shoes? I'm kind of crushing on them right now. Can't decide if I want them yet. They look really cute on!
Ooh, shiny! There's something about two-tone pumps with patent leather that's very classic, even though these are the kind of shoes that would cause me to trip and break my neck. They remind me a lot of the gorgeous retro pumps on this site.
Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.
Well Sir M ( and don't think I don't notice how cute it is you are asking ),
I thought they'd be cute for a little black cocktail dress I have and since pink looks so good with grey, I have these grey pin striped tailored pants that I thought they would look really good with too. I'm short so they give me tons of height, and I love the peep toe.

Ask yourself this Mo,
If you went to the shop - and they no longer had these shoes available - how gutted/dissapointed would you be?
(And for this little exercise, let's say they are discontinued.... so you can't get them on-line either....)
..........?
Yep, thought so.
Buy them -{

I'm not sure about the cocktail dress - I guess I'd have to see that to judge....but the pin-striped tailored pants sound perfect.
If you've been thinking about buying these shoes for more than 48 hours and still want them and plan to wear them for more than one dressy occasion, I think it's worth it. Nap's just jealous :P

Niiiice fashion talk! Hello ladies and hello gentlemen, sorry for my prolonged absence. As usual, life got in the middle X-(
I totally agree with both you and Lexi on the shorts... Actually the bermuda length is very in fashion now but they have to be tailored and with a stretched fabric. I have a navy blue pair that I use to go out at night in the summer with heels, I'd have to wear and show but basically it's like a much more elegant type of bermuda-length short. I think that would look great on a Bond girl. Or the look you guys mentioned above. I also very much like bermuda-length linen shorts.. I have a Max Mara pair that is great for the summer. Obviously that's for a much more casual look... at the beach or yeah, in the desert
I'm going to check the PM!
Mo!! RE: shoes. I am one of those women who hate (and I really mean HATE) platform shoes. So I will pretend the platform isn't there on those ) Minus that, I love them. If you like platforms then these are great. Bear in mind that them being pink/black they will require a black and pink outfit to go with. Or a solid pink or solid black dress. That's why, while I love the Chanel two-color shoes, I'm always very careful with them. Once you get a shoe with two colors, the outfit must absolutely perfectly match it, or it'll look totally out of place. That said, I repeat, they look great if you like platforms, so you should get them if you feel they're your match!
To clarify about the shoes, I LOVE these:
And these:
I like these other ones too, but not as much because of the platform (I can't help it I just loathe platforms unless it's a casual wedge sandal)
These are quite nice despite the platform, as the platform is minimum... anyway the problem with this type of shoe is the outfit must match exactly (whether it is one of the two colors or both) or it just looks terrible...
