Corgi Golden Gun

Hi All

The Corgi/Master Replicas golden gun is now available to pre-order at the extremely competitive price of $199. The trouble for us Brits, though, is that Amazon.com will not ship to the UK and the item is not available (not yet, anyway) at Amazon.uk or elsewhere.

Is anyone in the US prepared to help out?

Trying to sneak this item into the UK may well violate some of the new laws designed to protect you from "gun violence". Best check with someone to make sure you don't get locked up by trying to bring into the UK something forbidden!

    Sorry I have to disagree.

To all of my personal experiences, Amazon is a highly recommendable retailer.

There is no harm in signing a preorder: You only pay, when something is being delivered, not before.

So, even, if the item should be cancelled (which everybody does not want to happen) for any reason, one is not out of money anytime.

Additionally, SGG have you been thinking about the possibility, that Corgi may test the market interest for this item that way?
So, the more people are pre-signing, the more likely it will be, that these will be done!!

I remember all the moaning due to the fact, that Corgi cancelled the figures "due to low market response" here:

And now you are asking people to sit on the fence watching the next fantastic project going down by not placing orders?

BondToys, you're absolutely correct. I've been purchasing on Amazon for about 2 years and I've never had a bad experience. They're always timely and I've never been charged for anything that did not ship and in most cases, they have great deals on DVDs, Books etc. at great discounted prices. {[]

I had one bad experience with Amazon but after several months it was resolved.

Amazon US and UK are both great - super customer service. Pre-order is risk free - you can cancelled anytime, and you are guaranteed the lowest price paid - even 1 month after the product shipped date - Amazon will refund you the price drop amount.

I'm not sure if this is what happened to you, but when buying thru Amazon.com, it's important to verify whether the product being purchased is coming directly from Amazon or a 3rd party dealer who sells their wares thru Amazon's website. Product descriptions are clearly marked as "Sold from and shipped by Amazon" or "Sold by this seller..."

Getting stuff from 3rd party sellers can be hit or miss (and, like Ebay, it's important to check their Amazon feedback when contemplating a purchase). But when getting stuff directly from Amazon, I too have always found them to be great in terms of availability and customer service. They've never charged my card until the product had shipped and their prices have been uniformly hard to beat.

Even though we have the SD Studios version, Spectreisland and I have done our duty and preodered. :D

Of course you may get a girly book like 'Skipping Through The Daisies' instead of what you ordered, but this is very rare and quickly resolved. I still have these by the way Markus if you want them :))

All in all though, after hundreds of purchases through Amazon, I've never had a problem.

yes I will pre order also ... Thanks to all ...

    cheers

but i do stick by some bad experiences with AMAZON .. ...

yes issues were resolved in time and o moey was lost but thats one thing I cannot be bothered with time ,,, time and more time... I favour quick and fast services.. but hey ..

I will do my bit and pre order a golden gun just now.

But that's my point – those outside the US cannot pre-order so need a hand from someone over the pond.

    I understand what you mean.

But I still encourage everyone from the UK to preorder. If a release is published, there is still a chance to cancel.

The more preorders, the better it is!
But you are correct. Importing these to the UK may be troublesome, where is Asp9mm?

I am sure, if it is legal to import, one of our US brothers will serve as a shipping address and distribution center :D

you would think that a product like a replica of the golden gun would not be classes as even a replica gun ... its more of an artifact its not as if you could walk into a back with a replica and hold the bank up ..

I mean if I was in a bank and a guy walked in with a golden gun replica and held the place up... my first instinct would be to grab the gun from his handand run out the door with it...

gun laws irritate the hell out of me ... I feel that real collectors not idiots real genuine collectors like most of us here... should be able to apply for some sort of licence which allows us to own replica guns... with the law knowing that its going into a privite collection ie a display case... I hate the fact that guns are being banned and I understand why but its a shame for collectors who only want one as a display peice... why should the genuine collector suffer becuase of dim people who use guns as weapons in public.

The press release that was put out a while ago said that they were going to have two versions, a Golden Gun SE and a Golden Gun LE. Does anyone know which one is listed on Amazon and what the difference between the two will be? I want to get one of these, and just don't want to get this one only to regret that I didn't wait to get a better version.

I have never had any problems with Amazons pre-order service either. In fact I have Bensons' Union Trilogy and Ian Fleming's Sercret War on pre-order right now.:D

After rereading Bondtoys persuasive argument I preordered. I hope it doesn’t get cancelled.

i think you made a good point about the 2 versions of the gun from what i know is the SE gun will be the standard gun and the LE limited edition will be signed by christopher lee... the guns will be the same gun no difference in quality or function etc .. just the signature will diffrance the LE and the SE

but i think the LE will be released a lot later in the production line so everyone will buy the un signed gun then the signature pictol will come out so everyone will buy that ,,,

a bit like what autoart did with there bond cars ,., released a db5 then released a db5 with gadgets

    SGG,

is there any source for this, that you may quote?

About the AutoArt DB5 models: There has been a simple reason, why these have been initially without gadgets: They have been available as molds and therefore have been easy to produce.

If the "unarmed" DB 5 would have not been a success, there would NOT have been ANY of these other beautiful models in the 007 Autoart car line.

Same with the Golden Gun from Corgi:

If there are not enough of them for a SE because everyone is waiting and speculating for a LE, these will continue to be dreams and nothing else.

I can still only encourage everybody to place as many preorders on these guns as possible.

Guys, don't hold your breath on this one. I have it from a very good source in the US (who worked on the project)that each one of these Golden Guns cost more than $200 to produce so a retail of $199 is incredibly unlikely unless MR are feeling incredibly generous?

    LOL.:p

You neve know ... maybe its a nice generous Christmas present from MASTER REPLICAS.... lol

A bit like TMWTGG poster which displayed the gun in its component parts ... saying '' A CHRISTMAS PRESENT FROM JAMES BOND''
