Ian Lancaster Fleming Passed away August 12, 1964 at the age of 56. His words to the ambulance attendants were typical of Fleming.
"Awfully sorry to trouble you chaps."
In my honest opinion, Fleming was one of the great literary voices of the 20th Century and his work resonates with us today through the continued republication of the James Bond novels and with new stories cropping up all the time, the continued success of the movie series and websites such as this one. I'm certain someone else has thought to post a tribute to Fleming today. This is my take.
It is well worth remembering Fleming, especially today when we need heroes so badly.
Ian Fleming, thank you. R.I.P.

I love Fleming's last words. Very gentleman-like and very relaxed until the end. He was about to die and he didn't find it to be that much of an issue.
