Good news for QoS?

This is an interesting development...Warner Bros. has pushed back the latest Harry Potter film, 'Half-Blood Prince,' until Summer 2009:

As someone from Total Film says, Bond and Potter don't necessarily share the same exact target audience, so whether or not this will benefit QoS is debatable. Still, it certainly can't hurt Bond's market share over the holiday season at the cinema...perhaps it improves his chances to hit #1...
Any animated penguin pictures coming out this fall?

As a matter of fact, Dreamworks' Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa is opening the same day as QoS here in the states. And yes, there are a few CGI penguins in there.
The first Madagascar was a pretty big hit, earning $193 million in the USA and $533 million worldwide back in 2005. Being a "family friendly" film, I wouldn't be surprised if this one gets a healthy opening as well.
If you're curious about what opens when, IMDB has a handy "Now Playing" section. Just click on the month and you get a listing by week of everyting that's coming to a movie theater. http://www.imdb.com/nowplaying/
Seems somehow karmic that 007 can't escape the CGI critters on opening night It's probably another #2 opening for Bond...Oh, well. Didn't hurt CR... :007) Besides, not having Potter elbowing for screen space is bound to be a good thing.
