For Your Eyes Only book for sale

Hello all. I am going to put up a copy of For Your Eyes Only on ebay soon but thought I'd post here first to see if anyone wanted first crack at it. It is a exact reproduction of the Jonathan Cape first edition produced about 10 years ago by The Easton Press as part of their First Edition Library. It has been read but is in pristine condition with a perfect jacket and slip cover. A beautiful book but I am going to start on the leather bound collection that Easton now offers so I'm going to part with this one. PM me if interested.

If I put it up on ebay it will probably have a BIN of $100. I'm not sure yet as to setting a minimum bid. If someone from the forum is interested I would do a BIN of $90 and would include shipping. For those who are interested there is currently a copy on ebay (although not mine) that has an opening bid of $79.99. My ebay ID is milwaukeebrewers1970.

Earlier in the day I got a PM from a rather pedantic, self professed "book dealer" who shall remain nameless that said he would not pay more than $45 dollars for it...but that stands to reason as he would no doubt turn around and try to double his money on the deal. Hey, I luv capitalism too. No harm no foul.

I won't be putting it on ebay just yet. I've got other things on there right now (no Bond stuff)...I may just sit on it...depends on what the interest is. I can always test the ebay market later. I just thought I'd give someone here first crack at it...but like I said there is at least one copy on there as of this morning.

I'm eventually going to get the leather bound complete edition. I read someplace that Fleming had all of his first editions put into leather covers for his personal library...so I guess that's the look that I am going for. I had a lot of Easton Press books and they really are beautiful with the leather covers. So when I pull the trigger on that project this copy will be obsolete for me personally but I know there is a market out there for this edition. Hope that helps.

    Cheers.

PS...Isn't it funny that Fleming was such a bibliophile but that Bond distrusted people that owned a lot of books?
