Bondgirl Fragrance, AVON Exclusive

I'm not sure how many of you know about this. There's a new James Bond women's fragrance coming out for women called Bondgirl. As fans, I figured many of you would want to know about it and maybe even grab a bottle for the wife or your mom for Christmas (while also getting a free movie ticket to the new movie). I'm actually an Avon rep and it's available on my site as of today. (I'm in a select Trendsetter district that is a month ahead of the rest of the country so most local Avon reps won't even be able to order for another month).

It's only $30 and you get a free downloadable movie ticket to the Quantum of Solace movie. I even have a free shipping code you can use on my site if you choose "Direct Delivery" for shipping to your house.

Here's the ad from the catalog:
http://shop.avon.com/shop/catalog/20.....;/images/p2.jpg
http://shop.avon.com/shop/catalog/20.....;/images/p4.jpg

To get your own bottle, it's super easy:

1. Just go to:
www.youravon.com/htorres

2. Click on "Shop" and type "Bondgirl" (one word) into the search field, add it to your cart (you'll have to create an account)

3. go to check out and Choose "Direct Delivery" (don't choose Rep delivery since I'm in TX)

4. Put FSANY into the coupon code box (that will give you free shipping)

5. It allows you to pay via credit card or Paypal and it will ship directly to your house.

If you have questions, you can email me through my Avon site.
(Avon US only ships within the US.)

It's funny that this post should happen today as I had a chat with a lady at work who usually bring her Avon catalogue in for us all to order from. She tells me that her Avon Lady said that the Bond Girl scent is available now to order but not in the catalogue until next month. I think she said it was about £16 and it comes with a free Goodie Bag! Now I'm not sure if this will be a 007 or a cosmetics goodie bag but I couldn't resist ordering a bottle for the love of my life - who is also my wife! :007)

The only thing is I wonder what the scent of a Bond Girl is? Maybe it is the smell of fear that once you're a Bond Girl your career will evaporate! ?:) Just joking as I don't believe in The Curse Of The Bond Girls.

Having said that has anyone seen Halle Berry in a film of late??

A friend at work is an Avon lady, and I've pre-ordered my Bond Girl fragrance from her. No free film ticket, but a make-up bag and compact mirror with the gun barrel motif, as well as a free lipstick.

I have no idea what it smells like, but it is meant to be a sandalwood type oriental mix, which is what I wear. None of your floral stuff for me.

I did wonder whether it was going to be cheap, easy and possibly dead before the credits roll though ;)

Avon have brought out a nice catalogue to go with the release of this fragrance as well. My brother managed to get one from our local Avon lady before they are released - http://www.toysofbond.co.uk/solace.html

If you're wondering about the fragrance itself, my wife (who also sells AVON) has a sample. It's very soft and subtle. The brochure describes it as "A sexy cocktail of velvety florals, cool freshness and warm woods." To me, I don't really smell the floral part. It's much more subtle than that. It's actually a very nice fragrance. My wife will be wearing it opening night, for sure! I'm in Winchester, VA, so if any of you want to order it, just let me know. We can work out a way to getting it to you, so you won't have to pay for shipping. Feel free to send me an e-mail to obtain more information. jtgarnes@verizon.net.

Ha, is this the Kittlemeier that is on the Indy boards? Yep, it's me ITG!

In the US you get the movie ticket. I'm wondering if the UK is doing a different promo (bag?)

Yeah, to the person who said they didn't think they'd see an Avon lady here. Haha! I'm no typical one. I collect Star Wars and Indiana Jones props and enjoy the Pierce B & Sean C James Bond roles. Needless to say, I was excited about this perfume.

Oh and the fragrance has a woodsy smell with orange blossoms. Let's see if I can get the links to work again...

Oh man, we should compare notes! My Other Half collects Star Wars and Indy stuff. Me, I stick to Bond. And Pirates of the Caribbean. Oh and Jack the Ripper books.....

I hope it's not floral. I don't wear floral, and if I have to return this perfume, I shan't be a happy bunny. Maybe I should just grin and bear it for a while, and just never buy it again ;)

Ravenstone, you can go on AVon.com and look up a rep local to you in England and ask if they have a sample you can try. To me, the fragrance isn't too floral-like. ]

I'd love to compare notes sometime on Star Wars/Indy. Message me your email or something.

Yes if you could that'd be great as I can then find out what I've forked out £16 for my good lady wife. If you can post any photo's that'd be great too!

My Bond Girl package arrives Monday.

My Avon lady friend has ordered a few extra of them, just in case. They aren't in the catalogue until some time in October, so most people won't be getting them til mid- late- October.

If anyone would like one of the parcels, she is only too happy to post them - national or international. So if anyone would like the UK promotional package which includes -
    Fragrance
Compact mirror with gun barrel logo
black make-up bag with gun barrel logos
    Lipstick

    I can make arrangements.

The fragrance with the free promotional items costs £16, and I would imagine postage and packing to USA would be around £6- £7.

I can put up photos on Monday once I get my order if anyone is interested.

For further information, please PM or email me.

Ravenstone, I am interested in a package....!

Right - as promised - a description (at least until I get some photos uploaded)

The bottle is very nice. The box is also very nice. Tasteful.

The cosmetic bag is very small, about big enough for a compact, lipstick and a couple of small items. It's not long enough for, say, your typical bottle of mascara or your kohl pencil. The logo is very tasteful though. Black, self-patterned, small logos of the gun barrel and 'Bond Girl 007'.

The mirror is about the size of your average face powder compact, but it is not a compact, i.e. it does not have a cover. It is just a round mirror with the gun barrel on the back. The metal has a kind of sheen to it, though. It's not plain brushed aluminium look. It may not show up on photos. It's got a sort of iridescence to it.

The free lipstick is one of Avon's Pro To Go lipsticks (the one they market by saying it is opened one-handed) in Provocative Plum. It's not as dark as it sounds. I tend to like quite dark purples and plums for lipsticks, and this is more or less what I'd call a dark pink lip gloss. Not really a full coverage lipstick. But then I'm not a big fan of Avon lipsticks. I find them too greasy and they don't last five minutes.

Now. The important thing. The fragrance itself. It's not as easy to describe as I thought it might be. After conferring with my associates at work, we decided the best description is this :-

It's a sandalwood type base - not as heavy as a musk - with hints of jasmine and/or orange. It's described as 'floral', but it isn't really what I or anyone else would call floral. It's not Anais Anais. It's a delicate jasmine or orange, or possibly both, but no trace of citrus. It's not what I'd call a 'clean fresh scent', but more a smoky subtle one.

    I hope that helps.

My prediction that it wouldn't last past the PTS is only slightly out. Although the initial smell is a little strong (not overpowering though) it soon settles down, and I felt a reapplication was necessary after about three hours. So it makes it to the end credits, which is more than can be said for some Bond Girls. ;)

    Well my package arrived today.

I have to say, I'm quite impressed. The little black zipped bag is quite small, like Ravenstone said...but would do perfectly for an evening bag.

The mirror...comes in a velvet pouch, which is quite handy, as the mirror has no cover..so the pouch will stop getting it scratched. I love the gun barrel on it....

The perfume is in a really nice box. Silver...again with the gunbarrel and "Bond Girl 007" in the centre. The pefume bottle is also nice...and it does remind me of the Jean Paul Gaultier bottle...but sleeker.

The perfume...is actually really nice. Different. Floral...but subtle. Sandlewoody...but not too rich. I'm happy....and I can't see why any Bond Girl would be dissapointed....

I'm out today....but if people still want...I can take some photos?
