I would like the groups opinion on which gun that Bond carries or carried in all the movies or publications is the fan favorite?

    I'm sure that this has probably been discussed to death over the years, but I think the Walther PPK has always been the gun most commonly associated with Bond. It also happens to be my personal favourite. ;)

    The Walther PPK is my favourite. I used to belong to a pistol club before the ban and used one quite a bit. At 25m it was pretty accurate as well. The currant P99 is no undercover operative weapon. It's far too bulky and actually very heavy, and no where near as reliable as I suspect you'd like in a life-threatening situation. Not like a Glock, for instance - idiot proof and light. I suspect Ian Flemming had it right from the start a tiny .25 Beretta for under the dinner jacket, and a big, powerful .45 for when the going got tough.

    And where did you hear that the P99 was unreliable?

    The three I've owned (and currently own) have never had any sort of malfunction, nor have I ever heard of any trouble from other owners. 8-)

    The P99 is one of the lightest full frame 9mm's currently offered. You can wear this all day and hardly notice it there.

    Try lugging around a S&W 4006 on your hip all day. Then you'll know what a heavy firearm is.

    For the record, the P5 is my favorite. And yeah, I have one of those too. Heavier than the P99.

    My favorite Bond gun remains the Smith and Wesson Centennial Airweight. A hammerless 5 round .38 special, easily concealable, reliable and at close range, very accurate. I have the modern version, aluminum airweight in my own collection. Although chambered for the overpowered +P ammunition, it works fine with standard .38 special rounds. Of course, my personal favorite remains the Glock. That's not a Bond gun of course. But it is mine.

    Herr Michael I agree concerning the P-5 I intend to purchase one from the SOG folks I like the P-5 design and worn either in a shoulder rig, small of the back holster or same side hip as Craig carried the P99 in Casino Royale also it doesn't disrupt the line of my suits. Oh if you still own yours were do you go for parts and the like ?

    I own one of the Interarms-made Walther PPKs, chambered in .380. A lot of fun to shoot.

    Earl's Repair Service. He's on the web. I have bought many Walthers from him in the past including the MI6 007 P99 back when Goldeneye was released. I paid around $900 for that P99 with the 16 round magazines and sold it a year later for $1500. Now it's worth thousands...if you can find one.

    There is no dash between 'P' and '5'. I doubt you'll be needing any parts. It's just as well built and sturdy as the P.38.

    For me it it's the Walther WA 2000 sniper rifle from The Living Daylights. I like the design, and despite of the heavy cost which caused Walther to retire it after one year of production, has excellent stopping power using the .300 Winchester Magnum ammo rather than the 7.62 NATO round . While most fans prefer 007 to avoid automatic weapons, their have been a few times that have not minded Bond using something other than his PPK or P99.

    The H&K MP5K PDW from TND for instance, good weapon to use in long fire fights with baddies who
    also carry automatic weapons, and with the shoulder stock more accurate than the regular MP5K. The UMP9 from Casino Royale is another great choice. In many police and military forces it has replaced the MP5, as it offers greater range, and power with models in .40S&W .45ACP and 9mm.

    Also thanks to this series I am a huge fan of the PPK, P5, & P99.

    I've voted before on this subject, but am happy to do so again.

    All of Fleming's original choices are my favorites, of those I think the best one is the poor old Centennial. Too bad it only shows up in the movies in Thunderball, in the hands of a villian.

    Movie wise, the PPK certainly looks the best. I really appreciate Bond's use of "pick ups" in the last two films, adds a dash of "reality" to the proceedings.

    I'm happy with the way the films are going, much better use of firearms. The pickups are a welcome reality and the PPK is a good tool to get these.

    I'd love to see Craig weild an ASP though, that pistol just suits his Bond perfectly.

    I guess if DC can win a 1965 DB5 in "new" condition in a poker game, it is possible that he could come across an ASP .....

    It won't hurt to cross our fingers for that possibility!

    I have always loved the PPK but I like the P99 more.
    Away at Boot Camp, won't be back until April the earliest.

    Well, the Beretta was Bond's handgun of choice ... until he was forced to use the PPK.

    So, if it's good enough for Bond, it's good enough for me.

    I must admit to having a soft spot tor the P99 though... and there's a very nice version of this made as an air pistol ... complete with laser sight and silencer ... please, Santa!

    On Thanksgiving I had a chance to to QoS and I counted I believe three different guns carried or used by Bond 1. The PPK of course considering what he was wearing a few times in the film the PPK was more concealable than the P99 Hard to conceal under a polo shirt. 2 either a Browning HP or a 1911 when he was taken into custody and precede to put the smack down on the three or four SIS operatives in the lift, what he grabbed looked like a 1911 or a HP.3While at the hotel after loosing the Walther it looked like he picked up a PP I make this statement because when he picked it up, ejected the clip checked it, then replaced it in the guns butt he racked back the slide chambering the round. I didn't see or hear a round hit the floor and by the look of the gun it struck me that it was a Walther PP and not a PPK I would like confirmation on this or a rebuttal so I hope to hear back from some one.

    There's a very long thread on this in the QOS section. Bond uses a PPK, a SIG Sauer P226 taken in the lift and an engraved SIG P210 in the burning hotel scene.

    The PPK is more Bond like,I do own a Walther PPK and a Walther P99,,The PPK is nicer to carry but I seem to hit the targets better with the P99..
