Did anyone record the Bond South Bank show special?
I went to press keep on SKY + but stupidly managed to press delete, too late in the split second it took to realise my mistake.
I'm gutted, I waited 2 weeks for this, recoreded it, watchd it, and like Frank Spencer - destroyed it - hehe
Has anyone got this on DVD they could send me?
I would cover any costs involved.
Many thanks
Duncan

It's in five parts and is probably the best Bond documentary I have ever seen.
Olga shows up in part 4. Anyone who thinks she is anything other than breathtaking really needs to give the name of their Oculist!
Connery beginning at 2:08 in part 5!
I think his whole contribution to this special was simply fantastic.
Despite all of the past talk of his disenchantment, he really seems to have embraced it all! {[]
The behind-the-scenes footage of him hamming it up on the set of YOLT is hilarious!
Can any of those on the forum who own the newer DVD's let me know if more footage like this is on them? I wish I could buy DVD's of ALL of the behind the scenes footage in existence!
It's the least I can do after all of the great stuff you and a lot of the others have done for the forum!
I am really blown away by this documentary! Craig is so relaxed and candid - and Sir Sean - MY GOD he is awesome!!!
I read somewhere (maybe the comments on the individual parts themselves) that this was right before/after he had that lesion removed from his vocal chords, so he sounds a little weak and looks a little tired but what an interview!!!
I love his comment about how Craig "gets the danger" and that leads into one of my favorite scenes from Quantum - Bond explaining to Olga what a first kill will be like.
I never noticed the slight change in expression (it's so suttle) on Craig's face as he reacts to Camille's silence to his question: "Have you ever killed someone?"
It's not a look of disappointment but rather "I know how important your revenge is to you, and I'm going to tell you what I can in the limited time we have to make sure you get it right."
It's almost a look that a father would give to his son or daughter! Hoping that they have it within them to perform the task at hand but realizing they don't...at that moment!
He really is a great actor!
Melvyn Bragg is a very good interviewer, he knows how to get the most from his guests.
That programme can generally be about some obscure violinist etc but this particular episode is great.
Did you all see DC on the 'Parkinson' show after he did CR?
Another very good interview with a British institution that is Michael Parkinson, sorry but I couldn't locate it on youtube although it's on there somewhere.
I have linked part 1 of DC on the Biography channel on youtube:

You're quite right about Bragg! He really knows his job!
I think it's the same reason Craig Ferguson has been doing so well over here - it takes someone who actually knows how to listen, and who has a genuine interest in the people they are interviewing!
Thanks for posting the Parkinson interview Red
As you said, it takes someone who knows how to listen. I find it very frustrating when someone is interviewed and the show host has their own agenda and goes on about their own lives rather than asking the questions the public want to ask the guest and then allow them to open up and explore things.
Piers Morgan's show is also very good but DC keeps his private life away from the media so I can't see him ever doing an interview with him.
Without going into the sycophantism that is the basis of his career, consider he begins his interview with the classic line "the best Bond since Sean Connery."
Which is the same line Sir Parky of Barnsley via Surrey described Timothy Dalton. And Pierce Brosnan.
And probably would have George Lazenby, had he interviewed him.
Parkinson. Verbal Hello and Okay! magazine.
Best Parkinson interview was Mitchum who saw straight through him and treated him the contempt he deserved.
Hi David,
I didn't call Parkinson a great interviewer.
Here's what I said:

Fair comment.
~ Casino Royale, Ian Fleming
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's the only time anyone ever gets to hear him do that!
- Thanks Very Much for flagging this up Red Indian, I was peeved when I missed it on the box too.
I love the way Daniel Craig can poke a bit of fun at himself and the nature of how Bond can / has / will impact his career. Its nice to see that he is clearly enjoying talking about Bond and the world he lives in, and his own perspectives on that.
Sir Sean surprised me - he also seemed happy to be adding his insight into where Bond has gone and his take on it all - including his place at the start of it, and what Ian Flemming had to say about him playing the character. It was also pleasing to see him candidly say how good he though Mr Craig is, clearly he realised he had an interviewer who actually wanted to hear his thoughts, and would appreciate and value his unique perspective!
For me the best interviewee though was Dame Judi. Its quite delightful to see this classically trained actress with theatre credits longer than all our arms talk with an almost teenage zest of playful joy about taking about Bond in general, and she feels about playing M!
007 and a half is right - excellent work by Melvyn Bragg.
