Gunbarrel: Foster obviously got disoriented by the ridiculous action scenes and put the Gunbarrel in the wrong place.:s
I hate to say this as QOS is the first 007 film I've reviewed here but I don't think we've seen the same film
I'm with maddy and not just because we're both Bond girls
I would apply an "ATROCIOUS" to all the above categories but the costumes. Excluding Giancarlo Giannini who is always incredibly good. The rest, don't even get me started. This really was a VERY forgettable movie, especially because as far as I'm concerned there was no James Bond in it. Ranks in the bottom three, and definitely behind DAD for me (which is to say something). Probably penultimate in the standings. Sorry, it was such a huge letdown it will take me quite some time to get over it. AND Henry Cavill as the new Bond before going to see Bond again. I now know I cannot watch a Bond movie (wait, this was Jason Bourne, not Bond) with Craig. I watched two, it's too much disappointment for me to go through.

IMHO this is one of the worst Bond films ,matching TMWTGG and DAD.Not a good Bond movie ,not even a good movie.

when has Bond EVER killed a British police officer who was only doing his job ,namely protecting his principle.
When did that happen ?:) The Special Branch guy was turned, and I can't think of anyone else he killed that was Brit apart from the double at the beginning.

It was never mentioned that the Branch Officer at the opera was turned,he did not idetify himself as police but it was never mentioned that he was turned just that he was the SB bodyguard to the VIP who was Quantum.

Ah, I was under the impression that he was a double working for Quantum, and not on 'official' duty for SB at the time Bond slotted him. I must pay attention when I see this again cos' it would be soooo wrong if he was not a double and just on duty as a CPO.
Yes, it wasn't hugely clear on that character. I think he could well have been straight but the guy he was protecting was secretly Quantum. I'd have to see it again to be sure.

Alessandra, I would never presume to be much of a judge of the quality of women's costumes, but I'm a bit curious about this point. I think that Olga Kurylenko is a very sexy woman, but from what I could see of her in the QoS trailer, I thought that the film didn't showcase her very well. I don't know what it is (whether it's a problem with hair, makeup, or clothings), but she just doesn't look as good as I know she's capable of looking in that trailer. If you have seen her photos in the Empire mag, you'll know what I mean (she looked much better there than she did in the trailer). What if anything do you think they did wrong with her?

frostbitten makeup was all wrong in the movie for the girls (and it was wrong for Eva Green in CR too, but that's another story). I agree Olga looks much better in other photos than in the movie.... and costumes were all included... not just women. I said I wouldn't call them atrocious though. Not that I'd give them a great rating ) )

I also wasn't sure about the Special Branch officer, but then I wasn't sure how M made a miraculous escape from a gunman trying to kill her at the start - where did she go?
And yep, you're right NP, at least one Italian policeman is crushed in his Land Rover in the pre-titles, which was down to the whole chase situation, not a particular car.
Now we've moved into the realm of innocents being blatantly killed or maimed on screen (like the woman at the palio being shot). Gone are the days when Russian police cars can be flattened with T-72s, but have them scrambling out OK. Which brings me to the certificate, there's no way I'd have given it a 12A (like the Bourne films) as I certainly wouldn't take 10 year old nephew to see it, that's for sure.

5- Thou shalt honour the magnificence that is Dame Judi, and cancel the continuity conundrum that she gave orders to both Brosnan and Craig.
6- Thou shalt be grateful for the small nods to Ian Fleming when they arise, and that QoS alone has more of them than all of Brosnan's put together**.
7- Thou shalt not grumble at the great gaps between movies, nor shalt thou offer to take MGW's place if he feels he needs a rest.
8- Thou shalt not dwell upon plot lapses in QoS, keeping in mind that these are in all Bond films and most films in general.
