    I have just taken delivery of a lovely bottle of LILLET BLANC in time for Vespers at Christmas.

    Kina Lillet went out of production in the 1980s. When I order a Vesper in London they use Lillet Blanc and it's love-er-ly!

    I can recommend ordering from www.TheDrinkShop.com

    Very reasonabley priced too!

    Enjoy -{

    Add quinine powder (the Kina in Kina Lillet) and use the right proof gin and vodka and you can have the real Vespertini. Check out the Esquire Vespertini recipe.

    I think I'll stick with the Kina Blanc. Quinnine is hard to come by isn't it? The Vesper I have enjoyed at several venues in London has been lovely. So muh smoother than the traditional Vodka Martini made with vermouth! Ugh!

    For Londoners may I suggest visiting either the Covent Garden Hotel bar or The Soho Hotel bar for the perfect Vesper. Mmmmmmmmmm. -{

    Try a drop of angostura bitters in the mix, the bitterness really does improve it over the non-doctored Lillet Blanc.

    I've also seen suggestions for making the Vesper with other aperitif wines such as Cocchi Americano, whci is supposedly closer to the original flavour of Kina Lillet than Lillet Blanc is, but I've never tried it.

    Made myself a nice Vesper this Thanksgiving. Sort of mixed the Esquire Vesper with the newer one. Bombay Sapphire (same proof as Tanqueray), 80 proof Smirnoff (didn't think buying 100-proof was worth it, since it would never be used again), Lillet Blanc and a dash or two of bitters. It tasted great!
    Strong drink, though.
