DBS I purchased the Herring Strathclydes and they are very comfortable. I like the dark brown and they look great with the dark Seven For All Mankind Mercer jeans.

    how about a picture?

As promised, I've posted a pic below of my Ryder III's. I love these boots already, and I've only worn them for one day. Definitely looking forward to breaking these beauties in. :D

    Kind regards,
    Craig

I was wondering for anyone who owns the Ryder III's, if they could please post a review on how the boots feel. IE is there sufficient ankle support, what are the insoles made out of...basically are they worth the money or not?
    Thanks,
    Josh

Is anyone familiar with the quality of Church's "slight seconds"?

I saw this and I am wondering if it is to good to be true or should I jump on it right now?

Thanks for bringing the seconds section to my attention! Since seeing your post, I have been checking frequently and today (only a month later) I found a pair! Thanks again.
  • Hi all

I just invested in a pair of Ryder IIIs and wore them for the first time today. They are amazing boots but have rubbed the hell out of my heels - anyone got any idea how long they take to wear in and mould to your foot? There's no way I want my money back on these beauties!

    Anyway I'm going to head back to the Church's store later to see what they suggest - may be something as simple as a heel grip as the size is spot on. Will let you all know ... -{

I'm very excited, my Ryder III's arrived yesterday. They came very quickly (ordered Thursday, shipped Friday, arrived Monday). These were also slight seconds. I have to say, what ever made them so is hard to find. I haven't (visually) figured out what caused them to not be up to spec. Whatever the reason, I'm thrilled to have a pair and at a great price. Thanks again asd007 for mentioning the slight seconds section at Herring's!

Got my Ryder III's today from Herring Shoes. 5 days from UK to wash DC and $120 less than they were in NYC. If anyone is on the fence about getting these, trust me...they're worth every penny.

    Coldheart96,
Were these second's or the brand new? as even with the exchange, it comes to about $485...and I think they're $500 in NYC...unless they raised the price?

Skyboy, my slight seconds came to $309.19, if that helps any.

My price was $445.00 from Herrings for new shoes, plus $24.00 customs tax. The cost in NYC was $565.00, which did not include NY state sales tax.

    Oracabessa,

Glad you got your Ryder III's. Now if only other shoes would show up on the slight seconds page.

I went to the Church's store in NYC today, they have a sale 40% off. Problem is they only had they Ryder IIIs in dark brown in a size 7 (UK) and G Width. I think they might have had a size 11 (UK) as well...

Is it 40% of everything? Does anyone know how Church's in store prices compare to Herring shoes?
  • skyboyskyboy Posts: 27MI6 Agent
I didn't ask...but I think it was. Church's seems to be more expensive from Herrings, but with the 40% off and the exchange rate, it'd be cheaper to go thru Churchs for the sale if your state side.

Well, I did check frequently and I would say that I got lucky. I believe they also have a notification system you can sign up for where they'll e-mail you when what you're looking for is available.

Ok I stopped by Church's again today. Apparently the last salesman who told me about the sale was wrong..it's only for summer wear, not "winter boots" like the Ryder III's. Still they knocked off the price, so it was the same I would pay from Herring. Not bad...love the boots too!

WHO EVER OWNS THE RYDER III boots, could you tell me if they are acurate in size? I wear anywear between a 10!/2 to a 12 depending on what brand. Of course I speak of U.S. Sizing. But I am a true 11 when measured. I just want to make sure I get it right the first time when ordering. Thank you.
