What is everyone's favorite Omega? The Seamaster 300m blue or black or the Planet Ocean?

Which one is a must have?

    Hard to say. I have a real 2254.50 (black 300 SMP) and a fake PO, and want to get a blue bond seamaster. All three watches are great, but i'm tempted to say that the PO looks the best, followed by 2254.50, followed by the blue bond.

    If you are going for the most important 007 Omega, it will be the bleu SMP, if you are going for the best watch from Omega, that will be the Planet Ocean.

    I would say the PO. I've got a normal Seamaster on a steel braclet that i love but day to day i wear the rubber strapped PO, love it!

    Hands down, the big Planet Ocean with rubber strap. I don't have one yet, but I will. I do have the Brosnan era blue Seamaster that I bought around the time of Die Another Day. Although nice, it does not get a lot of wrist time. The PO is as iconic as the Madagascar shirt and Daniel Craig as James Bond. The PO is also evocative of the Connery Submariner on the black crocodile strap. Very tasty.

    I'm not sure I would call the PO iconic... we never even see him using it with some good visible screen time the way Connery did with his Rolex or Brosnan with the Seamaster. The Seamaster is far more indelibly linked to Bond than the PO.

    I agree with urhash. The PO is nice, and looks way more impressive than the Seamaster I think, but you can recognize a Bond fan by it's blue Seamaster from 10 miles away! Can't say the same for the PO (yet).

    You're right about the Rolex - I've had a stainless Submariner for years and love it, but you do see so many car salesmen types wearing them. And Fleming did so hate secondhand car salesmen...

    The main reason I prefer the Seamaster over the PO is the elegance of the basket-weave bracelet. Most divers watches (even the version Craig wears in QoS) just look too clunky and sporty to go with a suit or a tux, and the only reason Bond can pull it off is because its a movie and he's James Bond. On the other hand, I really do feel the blue Seamaster goes with just about anything. I've worn it to all types of affairs, whereas I wouldn't be caught dead with the Planet Ocean (CR strap or QoS bracelet) in any sort of formal setting.

    I have both and love both. Maybe the PO is a bit better looking but the SM is more peculiar as blue. I switch the bracelet from metal do rubber during summer and I love it.

    I have the CR Seamaster and love it. The only thing about it is it gets scratched easily, so I want the get the Rubber PO for everyday use. That way I don't have to worry about scratching it whenever I put my wrist down on a table or object.
    Away at Boot Camp, won't be back until April the earliest.

    I have both a Seamaster and a Planet Ocean...and the Planet Ocean looks far more impressive on the wrist.

    Great inputs gentlemen. I've seen the limited edition with the "007" and the movie title on the watch. My wife thinks that is tacky. I'm not crazy about it either, but would consider it if it would be a great collectible. Although, I'm not sure I'd wear it day-to-day.

    I Have all 3 - the Rolex Submariner, The Blue Seamaster and the PO 45.5 (Big Size) with metal bracelet and i have to say since buying the PO the others have taken a back seat. The PO is an incredible looking watch and although it is large still fits perfectly under double cuffs that i wear for work. It is a modern looking but slightly retro watch and gets so much attention. It is the perfect watch for the new Bond.

    So...it appears the PO won! I have the Rolex Submarinar Sea Dweller (heftier than the regular Submarinar) and it's great. I used to have the blue 300m SMP and I think its bracelet was more comfortable. Big mistake to sell it, but the new one with coaxial movement might be better. The Sea Dweller does keep better time than the older SMP and my Navitimer (wear it for flying).

    I have to agree the PO is very nice. I'm a recreational diver and used to dive with the SMP. And the PO would be prefect for that.

    Now I just have to decide - special edition version or not. I wonder which one Bond would prefer? Probably the plain PO and a Vesper...

    ;) As you have a Sea Dweller, I wonder, why you are taking the 2nd best choice for diving ?:)

    P.S. After thinking again, the PO is the 3rd best choice, after the Submariner :007)

    Gute frage! The SMP bracelet extension over the wet suit is very useful; the bracelet is also very comfortable...more so than the Rolex. The Rolex also has an extension, however, the SMP did fit better.

    Hi Watch experts - advice needed!

    Last night as I took my PO off I noticed that one of the rubber strap 'loops' (the captive one by the clasp) has started to split :(

    The watch is only a year old, does anyone know if these are covered by the warrenty, or I can get a replacement one at least.

    I suppose I could just go down to my local Omega dealer and find out but it would be helpful if I had some information before hand.

    On leather straps, the loops are usually not covered by warranty. The loops are the most exposed components and are usually damaged and not worn off.

    But if your Omega dealer is nice and so are you, there is always a chance for a replacement.

    And I would order 2 or 3 of them, the chances, that it happens again are high ;)

    Meiner Meinung nach the fitting of the extension depends a bit on the wetsuit, that you are using.

    Another aspect would be the fragile bracelet construction (tube-barrel) from Omega, which may result in loosing the entire watch, so, I prefer the safer Rolex (screws) construction.

    you'd better go dealing this as normally as it is. Every good salesperson knows how easy loops can get damaged but accusing the manufacturer for this is not a good idea.

    Charm, respect and understanding for each other is the key... ;)

    Tell your dealer that you were on assignment for your country's secret service, and you were attacked by 3 Al Qaeda terrorist and they would have killed your super model girlfriend, except that your Omega strap luckily deflected one of their machetes. So...doesn't he/she want to lend support to your country? :-)

    mmmmmmmm. I could try that one!

    But knowing the nonsence that we have to suffer at the moment, I would probably be charged for breaking health and safety policy or the very least infringing someones human rights. ;)
