1969 - The Wild Bunch is released. Film violence increases drastically afterwards.

Easy Rider is released. Changes the face of cinema forever, and brings about the demise of the old studio system.

Midnight Cowboy is released. Becomes the first X rated film to win an Oscar.

Do you do any gardening, Maybe?

I'm off in my helicopter later...

No, but if I did, I trust I can get quite a bit of manure from some of the more "amiable" members here. And should I run short, I can get a few extra shovels full in the Dark Knight thread.

    Hey, enjoy your flight. :(|)

:D "Maybe I don't really want to know
    How your garden grows
    I just want to fly..."

I expect you have to know your Oasis to get this...

That's incredibly debatable. Easy Rider was significant, but I would greatly contest that any individual film brought about the demise of the old studio system, and if there was an individual film which did so, it would be Bonnie and Clyde, which was released two years before Easy Rider.

And when they start not smiling back—that’s an earthquake. and then you get yourself a couple of spots on your hat, and you’re finished. Nobody dast blame this man. A salesman is got to dream, boy. It comes with the territory." Death of a Salesman
