As the Ryder 3's are pretty hard to get hold of, I thought these were a good alternative. I managed to get hold of a pair with a vibrim sole, i got them as slight seconds form the Grenson factory for $180.

Just to echo the views on Herrings, a very proffesional service. If you have the cash, go for the Ryders. Herrings sometimes have seconds, usually with a decent discount. What I like about the Ryders is the toe is rounder than many of the other chukka models, so looks equally good with a suit as they do with chinos or jeans. Some other makes look a bit pointier in the toe area, which to me makes them look a bit dressy for casual use.They are just so well made, i have never once resented the cash i spent on them.
