Filming Locations For Bond 23

What locations around the world would you like to see in the next Bond film? I recently read they were considering taking Bond back to New York, not bad, but I want to see Bond visit somewhere new, like seattle, philadelphia, and a new country like south africa, what about everybody else?

    Australia would be nice.
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope

New York City seems very likely to me; that rumour isn't going away.

Australia is definitely overdue...there's certainly a great divergence of location types. Perhaps Dan Same can show them the most photogenic areas of Victoria :D The 'Outback' seems unlikely, given the arid locales featured in the second half of QoS, but I'm sure they could get the Land Down Under to 'double' for more than one place...

I personally think they ought to return to Japan---Tokyo, specifically, and whatever outlying countryside they have left...especially near water :v These days, you can create a proper castle* with CGI, and thus avoid re-creating that infamous hollowed-out volcano :v

    * Shatterhand's Garden of Death included! B-)

Like Japan, India (in the british imperial sense: India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan)should also be revisited. Octopussy was so silly. the regioan is full of conflicts and great locations and the people there are often Bond fantaics.

I do like the idea for Australia. I've always thought that the Sydney Opera House would be a great setting for a Bond setpiece (although now that the Tosca opera scene has been used, we probably won't get an opera scene anytime soon).

New York is a wonderful city that hasn't been fully explored to its maximum potential in a Bond film; however, I would rather see Bond visit some of the great American cities he has not yet visited - San Antonio, Boston, Chicago, and Washington DC among them (DC would be my #1 choice).

As for other places, I'd love to see Ireland, Montreal, Central America (fistfight on an Aztec pyramid!), or back to Greece (which would lend itself more to the title Risico :v).

There seems to be a strong lobby for Australia, which I think could be spectacular, I think that for those that want a certain 'Britishness' for 23 it could work really well in the narrative. New York is also 'over due' I'd love to see Australia teamed with London & New York as primary locations, but have a soft spot for Bond in Japan as well.

Whichever location(s) are chosen I'd like to see a good deal of the movie settle in one or two locations, So maybe a PTS in London and then focus upon Australia & New York for the rest of the movie.

    Only three years to wait...

I again say Australia would be good, but don't think New York is a great choice simply because of Bourne being there in the last film. For me New York is a city you can't capture on film, especially in an action picture. Maybe D.C. would work better.

I am here to lobby for South Africa, only because I am moving there. But other African possibilities include Somalia or the Middle East with all the terrorist conflict going on there. Maybe Quantum is behind things in that region?

My top votes are for: Australia (way over due imo), Washington D.C. and Somalia.

I agree that they should focus this time. Way too much globetrotting in QoS.

Three years? AHHHHHHHH! Don't remind me. :'(

I say damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead! Bond needs to do things in New York that Jason-Come-LatelyTM would never dream about.* I think they should avoid any kind of car chase there, for starters.

There's plenty of things for Bond to do in NYC, any of which would have Bourne eating his dust.

I agree that Bond could do NYC better than Bourne, but still don't think the next film should have anything going on there. I say go to D.C., it's appropriate because of the lead actors name and it's somewhere we haven't been with Bond before.

With that said when they go back to NYC I think elements of the short story should be there, and that is a possibility for the next film since I could see a 'Quantum' tie in with the short story plot of 'Bond in New York' I'm open to an NYC possibility, just it ain't my first choice. Of course, EON doesn't get in touch with me, so who am I to say? :D

They could do both; first one, then the other :)

I actually like that idea---two locations in the U.S., then on to Australia (or Japan) for the latter parts. I'd settle for a rollicking PTS set in NYC, since I'm really hoping they'll incorporate the 'Rockefeller Center' job, as originally recalled in the CR novel, into a storyline. A PTS seems a good way of doing this to me. Naturally, things don't go as neatly as they are in the book, so there ensues an action sequence

...which sends us into the main storyline of the film (and I'd prefer that Bond have to go back to London to be debriefed by Dame Judi, rather than having M visit the states X-( ). Then, on to D.C. to track down a Quantum connection or two (I'm sure they're there these days! :v )...

Then, off to Japan (or the Land Down Under) for the finale.

See? It's just that simple :D

Like some others Australia would look great on film and like the movie Australia they might get some help from the tourist department in promotion of the movie.
But South Africa would be my first choice after seeing the hotel the Queen stared at in Kenya ( I Think ) built in the trees so the lions etc would walk underneath, something like this would make a fantastic villans lair.

Australia is pretty unanimous. The cinematography would be good - there's a real richness to the light out there which comes over in film.
South Africa is similar in terms of light quality - making good for panarama views.
Bond hasn't been to Indonesia either - beaches, jungle, manic bustling cities, new money and a shed-load of corruption - all adds up to something to work with.
