Best of luck to you as a fan...but as someone in the advertising and marketing biz you NEED to strike any copyrighted images and logos from your sites and adverts...or your tenure will be short lived.
The changes ... and logos etc are rough at the moment... when I launch the new site as a "new" site... then logos such as the OO7 will be changed etc .. thanks for the advice David...
Just out of curiosity and this is meant as no offence to the webmaster of bondcollection.ar
But the seller from Argentina and the website Bondcollection.ar who sells many Bond replicas and items ... has many copyright issues.. and that site and ebay account has been going for a long time... I have spoken a few times to the proprietor of the said website seems a very nice guy ... so as i say no offence is inteded ...
Mike,
as I have told you before several times, there is a huge difference for EON to sue someone for violating copyright who's living in the same country than doing so in South-America with much different copyright laws.
And you should try not to sit in the same boat with them. They may be nice, but their items. 8-)

THANKS Bondtoys.... No not at all... my items are going to be far more specialised and unique and not on the same par as there products... You will see !
Thanks Bondtoys... you are very good at stearing issues in the right direction...
Yes I understand .... what you mean about the legal issues in the UK ....
there is going to be a world of difference between what I do and what the Bondcollection.ar does...
I have looked into this in great detail and looked at the issues and legal side etc etc ... So I dont want anyone thinking that I am doing this on a whim.....
Just one quick question to anyone who knows... as I am unsure of this... ? If I have, lets say an original Bond photo in my collection... and it mines and I own it, is that ok for me to scan and display online ?
I don't know what you mean by you have looked into the "legal detail around this"...have you really? Look, here is the cruxt: If you are profiting from the image, name, or substance around James Bond you are suseptable to legal action. It is up to EON's legal group whether they want to start the initiative. This does include marketing, advertising and CREATION of products that use the Bond name or image. I ammnot trying to poop on you just trying to protect a fellow fan and collector.
sorry to step in again: It is not only the gun logo, I am sure, that Manthis mentions the use of screencaps and other images and the fact, that you are commercially reproducing EON copyrighted material.
Just an example: SD Studios paid a LOT of money to get EONs permission to reproduce the GG.

Please ... no need to appologise for jumping back in Bondtoys... I value everyones opinions and advice greatly ....
in terms of screen grabs .... they are being taken off my site... and the props re done and displayed ... the only images being used is images owned by myself ... such as displaying my original photos ..which I own ... and a few others who gave me permission to use photos from there collection...
In terms of SD STUDIOS and the production of items, props and replicas... they were mass producing items.... I wont be .. Far from it
Please ... no need the only images being used is images owned by myself ... such as displaying my original photos ..which I own
You may own the original paper photos, I do have plenty myself, but you do not have the right to published (even on the web) the images or reproduce in any format. The paper photos we have are "sold as collectibles with no reproduction rights" To use them commercially would be asking for trouble.
Well nothing, I am selling would include any image of any copyrighted material.... so i am ok there...
In terms of what you are saying about me displaying photos of my collection on my website... I dont see why that would cause any trouble its display purposes only ... photos of my collection of Bond items... as I say like I have been doing up until now... and I see hundreds of others displaying photos of there collections worldwide... including the UK
I wouldn't focus so much on what others are doing, but rather, what you are doing and can you be in legal trouble because of it. You are attempting to manufacture and sell James Bond merchandise--without a paying a licencing fee to EON. Feel free to sell it as unlicenced merchandise, but that means, no gun barrel, no 007 logo, no images from the films, etc etc. Also, as pointed out, being in the UK will make you much easier to come after depending on what exactly it is you plan on making/selling, as opposed to guys in Argentina copying cufflinks.
Sorry I had to remove your image, Michael. I don't know whether or not using EON images is a problem for you, but it's definitely one for AJB. EON warned us in no certain terms to not host their images, and we've scrupulously followed their rules. AJB is living proof that EON is very protective of their property.

I don't want to be nasty, but do you pay EON to be allowed to do this??

I wont be making anything that should upset EON in any way .. and I will not be using the Bond name directly ...
I only hope that all of you will see the progress and items for your collections as a good thing and not a disadvantage...
Put it this way ... I wont be doing anything that much different from what i am doing just now..
