Philips Arrive with Pictures

My Philips Churchs arrived today and my jaw hit the ground! THE most supple calf skin shoe I have ever owned. Like butter. And all the cloths, doodads and FREE shoe kit they threw in truly blew me away. Here are some pics of the prisitine shoe BEFORE break in phase.

Yes, they're definately a pair of Church's Philips.

And the quality IS Church's usual high standard (though a grade down from Lobbs, as you'd expect by the price difference). They are comfortable as hell (as long as you order them in the correct size, obviously).

The kit that comes with them seems to be standard as that's what I got with a pair in November I got from Herrings.

What a great pair of shoes, thanks for posting the pics. I was looking at these online at Herrings Shoes several weeks ago and mighty tempting they are. However with a price tag of £430 they are quite an investment for a piece of footwear. I have worn Loakes shoes for sometime and love them but would love a pair of Church's.

How are you finding these shoes? Are they comfortable and wearing well?

Believe it or not, I haven't even worn them yet...been travelling quitea bit and I didn't have the heart to wear them skulking about airports and muddy sidewalks...next week in the office for sure.

Did you find that Church's sizing is the same as your street shoe size? Or do the Church's fit a half size smaller? Thanks guys!

Mine was spot on BUT I did get the "G" which is a wider width.

I also see why every dance partner complains that you have two right feet.. :)

I think I got screwed at the Church store, while in London I went over to one of the many stores that Church has in London.

The store manager helped at the Regents street store. First, I was informed that the Philip was discountinued and would be replaced by the Henry.

Then I was informed that they did not have anymore in stock of the Philip, then when a sales person checked on my behalf and found a pair, I was then I was told that the Philip being part of their Royal Line does not come in wide or G width's. And so I bought the Ryder III and the Philip in the next size up.

The fit of the Philip is fine, but I cannot get both ends of the leather seperated by the shoe to meet, I have sort of a v shaped gap. I have worn the shoes to work for 2 days, for 8 hrs a day and they have broken nicely, day one bad, but no blisters to report.

Oh well at least they gave me my choice of 4 ties for free and I got 88 pounds back at the airport because of the VAT.
