SCREEN Acurate P99

I appreciate the Maruzen P99 is the more acurate replica of the weapon itself. However I've heard people say that the CP99 was actually used in some of CR. Therefor would the CP99 be more 'screen' acurate than the Maruzen? I'm not sure if the CP99 involvment in the films is contentious as some say only 'live' weapons and PAKs were used.....

Also can someone post immages of the different marking methods of the P99? I've heard of 'rolling', 'stamping' and 'lazer etching' any others? The markings on the CP99 and Maruzen P99, what are they closest to (methods above)?

Many thanks!

The CP99 was not used at all, it looks very different from a real P99, it was a PAK version of the P99 that was used mostly. The screen used live P99 was a laser etched 2004 version.

You can see them all here...

Go with the Maruzen, the Cp99 is very inaccurate.

Just confirming what ASP9mm has already stated, that is the P99's used on Casino Royale were 3 different firearms, numerous Umarex PAKs, rubber stunts for the crane fight sequence and 1 silenced airsoft for the stairwell fight sequence. No CP99's were used on Casino Royale or any of the 3 Brosnan movies. The main reason for this is contiuity on screen, if an air pistol had been used it would be easy to spot as the CP99 is a bit bulky..too many pies!

And the airsoft in the stairwell fight was not Maruzen, but one of those early soft-air spring jobbies with a J-Lo. was it Marui or something like that ppw3o6r?

Not up on airsofts but I believe it was an ASGK which is one of the first commercially available airsoft P99's and one of the most accurate even by todays standards which of course makes it completely illegal to purchase if you are UK based,if you can find one?.

It's P99 made specifically to fire blanks and cycle like a live version.

Hi, the real P99 has a floating barrel, when you remove the slide from the lower frame the barrel stays within the slide. The PAK has a fixed barrel much like a PPK which remains permanently attached to the lower assembly when the slide is removed therefore the PAK slide is not compatible with any other P99.There are numerous other internal differences. ppw3o6r
