TLD Rugby Sweater

Hi there.

I have just bought this great Rugby Sweater off ebay and I was wondering if you guys could tell me a little more about it.

It's dark blue with a white collar, and has The Living Daylights embroidered in white on the left breast.

It also has the 007 logo embroidered in red on the left upper arm, with the words 25 years embroidered underneath it in white.

When I asked the seller about it, he said that his uncle had gotten it from a stuntman called Eddie, who was a motorcyclist.

As you understand this has all gotten me curious and this seemed like a great place to ask.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Cheers,

Evert

I couldn't say for sure that this is where the chirt comes from but.....

If you watch the deleted scenes on The Living Daylights DVD you'll see that when Bond escapes after'shooting' Pushkin he uses a magic carpet to slide along some telephone cables from the rooftops, then swings down from a banner onto the back of a passing motorcyclist, the drive of which then does a wheelee and speeds off with 007 on the back of his bike. I believe the scene was dropped as it was to comical for Daltons grittier portrayal of 007.

The guy who played the motorcyclist was Eddie Kidd - famed motorcycle sturnt rider. For more information about him read:

Though I'm not 100% sure about his involvement in Goldeneye.... unless it was in the pre-credits bike/plane scenes.

I'm a HUGE fan of TLD so I'd love to see some photo's of this top.

    Wow, thanks Aston. Great info!

If you want I can try to snap some shots of the shirt sometime soon.

These are the pictures that were used on ebay:

Similar to the one I was given over 15 years ago, only mine is black with a white collar. I also have promotional polo shirts with similar logos - these were available from a company called (I think) Starwears, at the time. Not so sure about the rugby shirt, the one I was given had been won by the girls ex-husband and it was just taking up space.
