Any links? I can't find anything like that on the Jaeger site.

The Land's End jacket in a small is a damn good fit on me. The color reads a little indigo in the sunlight, but looks pretty identical to the color of the TF jacket in other lighting conditions. The collar buttons are like a smoky black.

The only negative for me is the zipper's a bright silver, which somewhat mars the general silhouette of the jacket. Not sure how to fix that one. I'll do pics when I can.

I certainly hope our deal works out.

Thanks anyway for the opportunity, HH HM!

Sorry no links. Just happened to be browsing in one of their stores and spotted them.

Just got my Lands' End jacket. All i can say is i'm impressed, excellent quality jacket for the price and fitting is pretty good. I'll take some pics of the jacket during the weekend for those who are skeptical

All in all, worth every penny. And i am one happy Bond fan. :007)

Glad everyone is enjoying the LandsEnd jacket...Hard to beat for $49. Just received my small and it fits very well. Will also take some pictures as soon as the snow melts here in Pennsylvania (what the hell?).

Did you end up keeping the Med polo or did you go for the Small?

    The jacket is now $39.

I can't decide between Small or Medium, my main concerns is that the sleeves might be too short on the small. Can anyone with the Small sized jacket post measurements? Thanks.

Land's End customer support is very helpful. If you call them up they can give you the measurements for the garments: sleeve length and what not.

Using Land's End sizing recommendations, I got a medium, which turned out to be too big. The small fits much better on me, and looks best in the shoulders and collar. Still a little pouchy.

    Walther,

Did you go with your usual size, or down one size like The Mantis?

Are the buttons dark navy or kind of a smoky/wood color as they appear to be in the pics?

    Thanks!

    Red Indian,

Don't go by the pics on the Lands End site. The buttons are a midnight navy. Also recommend going one size down from what you usually wear.

the buttons are midnight navy just as the jacket is and i ordered a size smaller then what i usually wear to get the same look as DC's.

It looks like the price is back up to 49. Still looks like a good deal.

Has anyone had a chance to take pictures of their Lands End jacket? I'm close to taking the plunge, but I'm still unconvinced of the color. If anyone has a chance, would you mind posting a photo or two?

    Thanks!

One more option for a similar looking Harrington jacket.

    http://www.woolrich.com

Direct link didn't seem to work but you can find it with a search for 23110.

    Men's Classic Poplin Jacket
    Style: 23110
    Price: $68.00

The Woolrich looks closer to the Y-3 than the TF desert jacket...if only they had it in black.

I should be receiving my Lands End jacket tomorrow and will post pics if there aren't any by then (I'm as anxious as everyone to see what it looks like from different angles, etc). Godspeed, UPS. Godspeed.

I just bought the Woolrich online. Will probably dork out and send some shots when it arrives.

I think I'll end up taking it to a tailor and adding some "bells & whistles."

Anyone got any pics of the Lands End model yet?

My Lands End jacket is "out for delivery" so I should have it today, but unfortunately I won't be home for another nine hours or so. I'll post pics ASAP (assuming it's waiting for me when I get home, that is) ;)

Seconded. The Woolrich has tabs and a collar, where as the TF jacket only has tabs only.

...if only they had it in black.

I know, I know. I'd have bought one if only it came in black.

I'm still tempted to buy one and dye it, especially since the sleeves on the actual Y-3 are less than ideal :))

Seems like there was some reason I came here...ah yeah. Lands End pics. I apologize for the blurriness on a couple of the photos...it's the result of a combination of my excitement, tiredness, and laziness.

A quick note about fit: I got a size small. I'm also 5'8 and 120-something pounds, so it does not have the fitted look on me. It does, however, fit true to size, so those wanting to size down for that fitted look shouldn't have a problem. Overall I'm very pleased with it; for $50 it's probably the best you can do.

Thanks for the photos of tje lands end jacket. It looks really nice but I would want the zipper to be a matching color as the jacket.

Thanks for the images TGF, much appreciated. One thing I didn't like about many of the Harrington jackets I found online was the elastic waist. However, looking at your images, it's virtually unnoticeable. Thanks again!!

Thanks for the pics! The Lands End website does not do this jacket any justice. The color really does look spot on... I'll be ordering mine right now.

    Thanks again!
