You can own a brand (and I don't argue against that, by the way, BMW were the best thing to happen to Rolls and Mini), but you can't really own it's soul ;)

But you are aware, that a lot of british Rolls Royce owners see it totally different ;)

As in, the owners own its soul? 8-) I don't personally know that many British Rolls-Royce owners, but I do know that it's German owned brand that German money helped set up and put back in it's rightful place as being one of the most luxurious and exclusive motor vehicles in the world, but it's pedigree, history, ethos and people who put it together and roll it off the factory floor in the south coast of England couldn't be more British. That's what separates it from a Maybach. Brands can change hands very easily, the essence of the brand remains rooted. In the past 15 years Land Rover has been owned by British, German, American and Indian companies. But the Range Rover hasn't changed its passport once.

Anyway, we're digressing too much from the topic, and we don't want to fall into perceived national stereotypes of pushing technical and commercial efficiency and superiority - or in my case being British, bemoaning the lack thereof.

I've always thought they should get Bond (or a Bond girl) driving the new Vauxhall Corsa.

There are several versions, but with Bond, I think he should go for the VXR - it's a cracker and yes I know it's not a fancy car as such, but it still looks good!!

Bond needs a break from cars in the next film. Time to nick a bus or motorbike or something.
Bond has to either stay with Aston Martin, or move over to Bentley. He can't trade down. People may love to have the new Lotus, Jag XKR's etc (God forbid, I can only assume that Vauxhall's a joke)in their garages, but it's just not Bond. For Bond it would be trading down ten-fold.
Aston is the pinnacle of motor cars. Not the most expensive, not the fastest, but as a package they have it all - power, looks, performance and luxury. What they have most of all is class.
You can't hypothetically choose an alternative car for Bond merely because you like it. It has to "be" Bond. I'd love to see Bond in the current BMW M3 coupe. I could at last walk round saying Bond drives my car, but although I absolutely love it - it's just not James Bond. For some reason I want him to have an Aston Martin or nothing at all.

Well I can only guarantee that the next Bond girl will be driving a Ford or there will be a Ford in the film somewhere.

With Ford so heavily involved again, am I the only one out there who is hoping we get to see Bond driving the Model T?

I'd like to see a reappearence of the vintage Aston he won in CR. Doesn't have to be in an action scene, just Bond driving it as his personal transportation. Actually, maybe that old Aston could be an excuse to introduce the new "Q". How about this little scenario: Since Bond won the car on the "Firm's time" as Connery's Bond used to put it, maybe the Aston is in the possesion or property of MI6 "Q" branch and Bond goes down there to try and get posession of the car for his own personal use and runs into "Q" and they have a bit of an "exchange" over what would be considered Her Majesty's property.

I like that idea a lot.

However, I fear that using this would rely too much on the audience understanding the continuity. A risk usually avoided in major films.

You're right - it would be good to see Bond back in the DB5 for a few scenes. I particularly liked the scene in Goldeneye racing through the mountains with the Ferrari 355 driven by Xenia. The classic DB5 shows a bit of soul, a bit of class. An endless budget of new £170k DBS's is not only unrealistic but a bit "footballerish". If Bond had to get close to a super-rich villain, possibly gain his trust and rub shoulders - then a new Aston Martin could be deamed a worthwhile expense. But to simply give Bond one everytime he needs a set of wheels is hardly believable, even in the world of James Bond.

Beautiful car. A bit small, like all Lotus cars,
but absolutely gorgeous. I wouldn't mind seeing Bond behind the wheel of the Evora. I wouldn't mind being behind the wheel of the Evora. :007)

i hope He would just stick with the DB5 and DBS in Quantum silver, it would be getting too absurd if Bond showed up in Bond 23 with yet another DBS in a new color, kind of like how he has so many Omega watches and new Cell phones when the last one wasnt destroyed or anything.

Its quite possible that his phone did not work after the building collapse (it would have got quite wet.) :D
No but seriously, I agree as I have said on previous pages, its time for something different, I love Astons but its time for something new.
I quite liked bond in the Range Rover Sport in bother CR and QoS. Also in Every Thing or Nothing, bond drove a Porsche Cayenne, both of which I think worked rather well for bond.

Anyway, as for the subject, XF coupé, or why not the XK?? Stunning car, and in my opinion better looking :o and classier :o than the Aston V8 Vantage...

I was about to suggest them. I think the XF coupe in particular is a stunning motor.

I completely understand why people where unhappy to see bond in BMWs, but the new Z4 i think could be a possibility.

Also, does anyone else think I might be nice in bond doesn’t totally wreck his next set of wheels!

BMW make a lovely car, no doubt about it...

I'll always be an Aston Martin man, as far as Bond goes :007) ...but it's almost time he had a film without a 'Company Car,' IMNO.
