Just watched QOS on BluRay

Got my Blu-ray disc of QOS from Amazon today and just finished watching it tonight. I thought it was coming on the 23rd, but was really pleased when the postman came today! The Enhanced quality is unbelievable. I enjoyed it more than the cinema as it was a crisper/clearer picture.
The Sienna roof-top chase was a little less shakey than on the big cinema screen, and I actually saw what went on in a couple of the fight scenes, as well as the boat chase in Port au Prince. I did have a poor seat too close to the screen at the time though.
If you can get Blu-ray then do it. But you will need an HD tv as well. I have all the films on DVD, but will start getting what's available on Blu-ray straight away.
Think I might watch QOS again now...

I'd like to know what others thought of it on DVD or Blu-ray. For me, it did'nt suit the cinema screen.

Looks as if your Blu-ray experience rather mirrored my DVD one---even though yours doubtlessly looked and sounded better :007)

My DVD review should post very soon...

I too have just watched QoS on Blu Ray. Even on a mid range 32" HD TV that is a couple of years old the picture and sound are both superb.

As for the film, well having only seen it once at the cinema my memory of certain scenes was a little hazy and I wasn't sure if it would live up to the excitement of seeing it for the first time.

I actually enjoyed it a lot more on Blu Ray, I was gripped from start to finish and it is now cemented as one of my favourite Bond films, definitely top 10. Fantastic stuff

Having a night in on wednesday with my son and 2 of his mates to watch the blu-ray version. We went to watch QOS a second time at the pictures, and I actualy enjoyed it more. So, maybe it needs that second viewing to appreciate it.
i was sceptical about the benefits of blu-ray, but am sold on it now. Interestingly, the old Bond films, shot on old film stock, are actually higher definition than modern digital HD, so well worth watching these on blu-ray.

I got QoS on blu ray on the 21st as well :D
I watched it twice and was very impressed by the transfer - the colours and detail of the quarry in the opening chase scene looked particularly good. The sound is also excellent - plenty of 'meat' where you want it, without the dialogue having to suffer !

I agree that QoS doesn't suffer with the journey to the 'small screen' - although I did prefer it at the cinema.

No doubt I'll give it another viewing (or two) before the weeks out :))

Seeing it on DVD it didn't seem as bad as I remembered, mabey all that jerky editing is more suited to the small screen.Did notice one slight mistake,M's bathroom is painted just like her office, Would anyone do this? or is M stealing her Majesty's governments paint pots to do some cheap decorating.:D

Bought it yesterday on dvd having watched it twice at the cinema. I loved this film straight away, and after watching it three times more it seems to get better. Just as a stand alone film it is a well crafted movie. I love the ambiguity and subtly :-)

Hi matie, just watched on dvd-not a fan of this film-was apprehensive of casino royale but loved it after watching it several times.Quantum of solace just hasn't done it for me-even when it finished was waiting for it to start-personally this is a diabolical bond film-lacks the Bond personal touch-very empty of plot, music, dry sense of humour,no such plot.Daniel Craig i like,i was dead against him,to start but warmed and feel the script has let him down,as hes superior to the film-no depth-it never started for me-let down big time, waiting for the music and never came.

I have to say, this is one of the more impressive Blu Ray movies I've seen so far. There were many moments where the sharpness was amazing.
