In the final duel scene in TMWTGG, when JB kills Scaramanga, he is wearing a suit, but earlier in the scene he is only wearing a shirt.

Well, this has something to do with the peak of tension:

If you could see, that Roger Bond takes the jacket, you'll know, what he's planning.

I guess, that the script wanted to have the audience to be as surprised as Scaramanga himself...

The problem is that any intelligent person in the audience saw that one coming from the moment we see the Bond mannequin in the opening scene.

A nice touch however is that when you look at this scene you'll see Bond has all his fingers again. Great sense of dramatic irony.

well, my first 007 movie was TSWLM, so, I guess, that I am too young to know, what the intelligent half in the audience remembered and foresaw -{

And as you state, you have been 14 in 1989, I wonder, how you could interview people in the cinema before you have actually been born.
