Bond Collectors LONDON Meeting

On March 30th (Next Monday) several AJBers, including myself, would like to meet up in London for some food, drinks and merriment. Imagine an evening where you can wear your Bond kit, or talk Bond lifestyles, or not feel someone is looking at your crossed eyed when you say the word SUNSPEL. We have not picked a time, nor a spot but we wanted to see who might be able to join us? I am thinking of meeting at a central location around 7PM then dining/drinking THEN perhaps taking an evening tour of Bond's London. Remmert and I have a route that starts at Big Ben and just by walking hits about SEVEN Bond movie sites...and of course a few pubs along the way.

Who might be able to join us for this?

Hope you have fun guys - too short notice for me I'm afraid, I have to organise time off weeks in advance.

    Take pics if possible!
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Tried Scotts yet in Mayfair? Flemings old haunt albeit not present location.

Or restaurant in Mayfair Hotel if you have time...mentioned in one of Gardner's books...

Scotts has gone downhill since it was changed so much a coupla years back. I recommend the Connaught just up the road.

I am indeed in Scotland, Islay to be exact, so no Bo'ness museum visit as I'll be too bladdered on all of the fine malts to move around too much {[]

Raise a glass to me and a middle finger to Bondtoys :p

Connaught's eh? What says the people that are going? Sound like a good choice?

It was one of Flemings favourite haunts too, especially the whisky room.

If this is the Connaught you mean:

    http://www.the-connaught.co.uk/

then it may be a tad pricey for some, but I'm game. Not sure it would suit this type of evening though.

Anyone else have an opinion? I haven't been to the Connaught myself.

Yeah, that's it. Prices arn't too bad for that area. You could have a quick drink there then head up to the corner pub - The Audley for a couple of swift pints. Very inexpensive there.

It seems that most people are looking for an environment where about 10 people could loud without feeling like a disturbance...

I take it you mean about the Connaught idea Mantis? That's what I was thinking.

Could have a drink there and move on to somewhere where we can let our hair down (metaphorically speaking).

    Hello,

Do you have a definite venue to meet?
Also, what sites have you in mind to visit, I know a couple myself, especially from the Thames boat chase?

We have about seven people confirmed...Connaught is closed on Monday so thats out...IF we could find a place with decent food and drink by Big Ben then we can have an evening stroll starting there and hitting several spots in close proximity!
