QOS suits question

Are the suits Bond wears in QOS the same Tom Ford suit but in different colors? What I'm interested most is the suit from the flight to La Paz and then the suit at the party that he wears through finding the water. Is the suit on the plane grey? Is the suit at the party dark blue?

As far as I can tell, yes there the same but in different colors. There is the exception that the Lake Como suit has turn ups, but I don't think the others do. The reason behind this is to copy the suit in CR.

I know that QoS was supposed to pick up a couple of hours after CR left off and the suit in the beginning is supposed to match up but did you notice that they did not have Craig in a vest in QoS whereas he was wearing one at the end of CR?

Yeah, it's like they didn't even try.

Once again product placement wins out over continuity... :#

Yeah, the vest disappears and it the jacket gains an extra sleeve button. I guess a transforming suit was one of the gagets. ;)

No, I believe that in the next DVD version there will be a deleted scene where we see Bond casually changing his suit after he locked Mister White in the trunk of the car... :v

My biggest problem with the continuity was how quickly they managed to fix the Aston.

I am not opposed to product placement when it is used with restraint... but when it takes precedence over continuity I get a little annoyed. Would it have been so hard for Tom Ford to design a suit that would match the 3 piece Brioni from the end of CR? After all, Ford developed the polo that was nearly identical to the Sunspel polo from CR... If they just didn't think anyone would notice then they made a bad miscalculation. It's not like it ruined the film for me by any means... but it is one of the first things I noticed.

I think when it comes to continuity between CR and QOS you just have to let you imagination fill in the gaps. I'm sure the script writers could come up with all sorts of reasons i.e. Bond changed his suit before driving his newly replaced Aston Martin to Italy etc. etc. There will never be an answer to this one - we don't know what the time lapse between the two movies is supposed to be anyway. Was it a couple of hours or a day? Again you can let your imagination fill in the gaps.

    Just my thoughts...

I'm fairly certain that is was simply a new Aston from MI6's (apparently limitless) motorpool.

It is a darker colour than Casino Royale's "Casino Ice" Aston, so I agree, it comes from Mi6's Motorpool, I wouldn't like to be their accountant.

You don't think they really spend $20,000 on a hammer and $30,000 on a toilet seat, do you?

I have read comments mentioning charcoal for the virgin flight suit. I'm not 100% convinced. On another (admittedly lesser!) website it is mentioned that the suit DC wears on the flight to La Paz is dark brown (and the champagne tie would certainly provide a good match). Watching the dvd again (albeit, on my crap tv) the suit certainly, at times, looks dark brown - but that could be due to lighting? My crap tv?

I always tought it looked taupe color (mix of mid grey and light brown)...

The "Virgin" suit is dark, not pitch, black. This very much looks brownish under fluorescent lights.
