Suit Fabrics

I was just wondering if I could get some feedback on the suit fabrics used in the Casino Royale 3-piece from Indy Magnoli. I was thinking of ordering the Quantum suit in the grey pinstripe so any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Having both the 3 piece and the Quantum Suit I can tell you the fabric used in the Quantum suit is a super 150s (at least in the picture) and the 3 piece I believe?? is a super 120's. I like the feel of the 150s personally. Its smoother and a bit lighter, though unfortunatly more prone to wrinkling.
You mentioned your interested in getting a gray pinstripe. The Quantum suit has a more subtle "pinstripe-esque" design, if thats what your after, but I would not call it a regular pinstripe. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

The grey pinstripe fabric I was thinking of getting for the Quantum suit was the 120 wool-blend, that was used for the 3-piece Royale suit only in grey. Was thinking about that because on the pictures included with both the Quantum & Casino 3-piece the fabric on the 3-piece looks much smoother. Is this just a trick of the light?

Its hard to say. the gray in the quantum suit is very nice, however so is the pinstripe in the royale suit. i suppose it just boils down to what you would be happier with. however one caveat i might add, you may have to have your local tailor tweak your suit a little to give it the exact "quantum of solace-tom ford fit" if thats what your after. otherwise i am sure you will be very happy with your gray pinstripe suit.

Thanks for the replies, I just have one more question. Should I then just take the measurements a little looser and have a tailer here tighten it up?

I can't speak about the suits, but based on a very recent experience with the Quantum Jacket from Magnoli, I would recommend slightly larger measurements. The jacket fabric is probably quite a bit heavier and stiffer than the suit fabrics without as much give, so better to be a little generous with the measurements. Easy for a good tailor to take in expertly; not too possible to let out. By the way, the jacket is a very well-crafted piece and too cool, and Magnoli is a class act in response to a problem.
    "How did he die?"
    "Your contact?" "Not well."

I'll second the Magnoli quib. I have recently purchased quite a bit from him in the past several months and I must say he is a VERY VERY stand up guy. He takes the time to answer every little question and detail to put your mind at ease.
As for the suit measurements, I would venture to make the measurements a little bit longer/bigger, but be careful with this option on the sleeves as functioning button-holes are a pain to try and alter. They have to go up to the shoulder seem and its a rather major and costly operation. But when its all said and done Indy's product sometimes needs just a little tweeking here and there and then its a work of art, something i rarely say about any suit.

Thanks for all the feedback, I've looking forward to getting this suit for a while and now I think I've gotten all the answers I needed so hopefully I can order it next month.

For those interested I'm aiming to get it in the grey pinstripe along with a waistcoat & cuffed pants. Magnoli is also making it with a floating canvas, so I just hope this turns out as awesome as it seems in my head.

It should. It sounds like it will be a very sharp looking suit. Be sure and post some pics if you can once you get it. And floating canvas is worth the charge as is pick stiching (IMHO). If you have any other questions will be happy to try and answer.
