just a quick update to let you people know how things are going.
i'm still waiting for the models to arrive, and they should be hopefully here soon. everything else is in material wise, so as soon as the models arrive, you'll be seeing some progress pics.
the bases should be engraved by the end of the week, so when the models are done, they'll be ready for shipping staright away. i'm trying to do as much as i can until the models arrive.
thanks for eveyone's patience, stay tuned and hopefully pretty pics will be posted soon. (hurry up UH)
i'm sorry its taking so long for the models to arrive, i feel kinda bad about it, but its in the hands of my local supplier now.
being as i get married at the end of june, i really hope to get all 10 models shipped before then.
i'll keep people posted when things progress a little further. as always, if anyone wants to ask a question or leave a comment, feel free to pm me, i keep a regular check on my pm's and this thread, so hopefully it wouldn't be long before you got a reply.
Well its time for another update. The weekend went rather well, and the shells are now ready for blasting. The interiors are prepared as well, so all thats required is the shattered glass.
Basically i spent most of sunday drilling holes..... and theres well over 100 holes that need drilling, reaming, and redrilling out. And it all has to be done by hand. Suffice to say I now have the wrists of an arthritic 80 year old, and the holes didn't all get done. More drilling tonight then. In the meantime, the shells will be blasted and resprayed. Once the glass is done, and the paint hardened, the models will be reassembled ready for detailing and then weathering. Soon after that, the models will be ready for shipping, should be around 8th of june, but don't hold me to that! lol.
I also had the pleasure of meeting fellow ajb'er 'KE02 EWW' on saturday, when he popped in to pick up his 1:18 dbs. Thanks once again for the drive sir, and yes, I did get a bollocking from 'er in doors when i was late picking her up from work, but the drive was worth it! )
Anyhow, I've got 10 little dbs's that need a blast, so I'll pop off and get some more work done.
Cheers for the patience guys, I'll be in touch with more pics and payment details very soon.
well the shells are painted as you can see below, they're also been detailed, and the interiors need some work before final assembly. after that its time for shipping, which hopefully will be around the 13th of June.
i'll be contacting all the buyers via email or pm regarding payment details very shortly.
cheers for your time and as always your patience,
MG.
shells sprayed, shells in the foreground are awaiting detailing, shells in the background have had silver detailling painted on. fyi, the 3 shells in the back on the left are sat on the stack of bases, and the packet on the right is full of the shattered glass pieces. as for the 1:18 dbs, who knows what'll happen to that.
i was gonna pm everyone details on how to pay by bank transfer, but guess where the codes are? yea, at home. where am i? yea, at work, so that aint happening today. bugger.
basically i'm aiming at shipping all ten models on saturday, but i'll need payment in my account before they go.
UK buyers will get theirs quicker obviously, and i'll pm the account details today as all you need are an account number and sort code. the international buyers need a couple of other codes, which i've left at home, so i'll pm them tomorrow or tonight.
the main thing i'm aiming for is that i get these all shipped by the 18th of june at the latest as i get married soon after and i'd like to get them done so you guys aren't waiting for me to come back off my honeymoon. it'll also give me a few more pennies to spend overseas
by the way, anyone know of any good bond related stores/ places of interest in florida? the keys will be a long treck, but i'm just wondering if theres anywhere i could visit while i'm over there.
oh and just a quick update, the cars are getting built today, and hopefully weathered if i manage to get the time. then it's hand finishing, details and then time for mounting onto the bases.
its not far off now people.
cheers,
MG
ps,
another dbs model is in the pipeline, not saying much but its nothing to do with QOS. B-)

MG,
I would prefer my model to be loose and not permanently mounted on the base please - I love to pick up my models from time to time

I'll be picking them up later today and work will start by the end of the week.
