And coffee, Jamaican Blue Mountain and De Bry. Then we have his bathroom items like the Floris, Pinauds and Fleur des Alpes already discussed, Hoffritz and Gillette razors, heavy with teeth and hollow handles, ideally used as knuckle dusters. Owens toothbrushes. A tube of Palmolive shaving cream in which to secrete ones silencer.
Bond also uses a fountain pen, although the make is unknown (TSWLM).
Must get some dark blue and white with gold rings - Minton China dinner service. Silver Queen Anne coffe pot and cutlery.
Of course, David, we can supply you with a list of items mentioned in the books.
But I think it would be interesting to know if you are after obtaining contemporary or modern versions.
For example, getting, say, Blue Mountain Coffee in a Fortnum's tin is easy. As is getting Eucris Hairdressing from Trumpers. But they'd be in 2009 packaging. Getting 1950s originals, however, is a different thing entirely...

One thing I was thinking of making to Go beside my Golden Gun was..... well its not mention in the novel of The Man With the Golden Gun I dont think .. but on the cover of one of the old 60's / 70's paperbacks... there is a picture of Scaramangas little Golden Colt / revolver gun weapon... what it was in the novels... well beside that there is a BOAC Business card... i thought something like that would be a cool little extras to have on display....
lets be honest .. if you mix everything from the films and the literaty world.. the collectables.. are endless... One could spend a life time collecting everything and still be on the look out for new additions to there collection...
And, perhaps most importantly, a copy of "the Bible to be Read as Literature" for carrying one's weapon abroad.
There are some versions of The Authorised Biography of James Bond with a dustjacket of this Bible. Not religious, but I always felt guilty at taking a knife to a bible to hollow it out

8-) I would'nt go that far to hunt down items, which are shown in the 23rd issue of a paperback IF novel, but tastes are different....

well i wouldnt exactly go hunting it down i would make it in the comfort of my own home at the computer.... like i do most paper props... ) ... hunting a BOAC card signed by a ficticious character and a faceless assasin..... would be very difficult indeed..
it was just an idea for a little display item next to Golden Gun props....
but hey at least it gave you a chance to be sarcastic.. ) good stuff
Yes, but that's expected with almost any fragrance. Additionally, I've found that my fondness for no. 89 grows with use. It's definitely a hidden gem, and if it weren't for the Bond community I would have never found it. It is among my favorite fragrances.
There are some, newer fragrances I've found where you get a strong, overbearing scent for only the first few seconds, before it quickly becomes mild. It seems to be older formulations that have the longer lasting initial burst, which is not a bad thing. It's just a warning to those that think they can spray on the 89 right before leaving the house and get on a bus/subway... be sure you do it before you have your morning meal.
And don't forget to stock up your kitchen with Coopers Oxford Vintage marmalade, Tiptree Little Scarlet strawberry jam, Norwegian Heather honey from Fortnum and Masons and Jersey butter

So, is there actually a reference to Bond wearing Floris 89 in any Ian Fleming novel?
I'd love to know, as it would help (persuading my wife the need to have a bottle) justifying its purchase.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the only reference is when Fleming was quoted as saying "If Bond didn't wear Floris 89, he would not have been succesful in bedding half the women he did"
I believe the quote is mentioned in the Andrew Lycett biography of Fleming

None whatsoever.
It invokes thoughts of something Bond would wear, though. The fragrance tends to speak to a base of masculinity, while the mids convey dignity while the top notes reveal sides of that fun, almost womanizing side of Bond. It's very complex....give it a whirl!

I am looking to start a collection of literary Bond lifestyle items such as his hair creme, cologne, shaver, egg cup, books he reads, etc...I am sure there are one or two of you (DG) who could answer all my questions but the more the merrier. I realize this subject is talked about in several threads but I though it was worth it to have a single source thread. All you literary Bond experts please start the lists so we can all begin the hunt!
This is a great topic, and because Fleming was often quite vague it means that we can each offer our own interpretation.
Anyway, my starter list:
FRWL
Palmolive shaving cream (the European product, not the US one) Chemex coffee maker (plus breakfast items already mentioned by Donald Grant)
GF
Saxone nailed golf shoes, battered black windcheater
OHMSS
Gillette razor
007 in NY
Hoffritz razor (heavy toothed Gillette type)
Owen's toothbrush
Izod golf socks (from Tripler's)
Just noticed that most of the items I mentioned had already been listed - sorry about that.
Anyway, while a blower Bentley may be out of the question (except a scale model ), Bond wears a pair of driving goggles when after Drax in Moonraker. The brand isn't mentioned, but Bentley does market their own, which would make an interesting addition to any collection.
Don't forget the Ronson (oxidized and of unknown model) and the gunmetal cigarette case. Or the cigarettes with the 3 gold bands for the matter of that. Also, saying "...for the matter of that..." for the matter of that. {[]
I sent a nice Email to the Floris company explaining that l live in Spain and and couldn't find anywhere here that stocked there fragrances to try, and they kindly sent me there full range as small sample phials including Floris 89 , my own preference is the Santal
Hope you can take some pictures, I have a few of Scott's exterior on my Mac which is part of my MASSIVE Bond lifesyle photo folder I use for my screensaver.

Don't tell me the idea dried up already?
I just bought the Bible designed to be read as literature on ebay, as a start anyway... :v
Incidentally, did anyone here ever modify that to hold the PPK?
