QoS Magnoli Harrington Jacket Replica

Hi everyone,

I've been considering buying one of these from Magnoli. However, before I do, I was wondering whether anyone has bought one. If you did, what did you think of it and would you recommend it? If you have any, I'd also really appreciate any pictures you could provide. Thanks!

I've got one and I love it.

Highly recommended, wonderful jacket. I wear it all the time.

Love mine too, also wear it all the time.

Although, apparently the screen used jacket had flap pockets which were folded in, so ask him to add those.

I was also thinking about getting this jacket. But I live in quite a windy country so I was thinking of getting it in heavy cotton twill or is this fabric too different from the original. If anyone can answer this it would be appreciated.

Also this might be a silly question but what are flap pockets and how do they differ from the ones that are on the jacket?

Glad to hear that you guys love your jackets!

There were a couple less than stellar reviews on jamesbondlifestyle.com, but I get the feeling they might be the kind of people who think that unless it's an authentic original, it's worthless. They were complaining about quality, which is not something that Magnoli's products seem to lack...leads me to wonder whether or not they even bought one in the first place.

As for your question Anreme, I asked Magnoli to send me some fabric swatches in both the light and heavy cotton. I'll let you know how they differ once they get here. I believe the pockets on the replica are hash pockets (just slots, with a button/loop closure). Flap pockets, on the other hand, have a flap of fabric to cover the pocket openings.

How's the sizing of the jacket? Is it true to size would you say?

Perfect, it's made to your own measurements.

Best bet is too get in touch with Indy, he's great to deal with.

Well, I'm not sure how someone could complain of the quality because I found it to be excellent and I'm pretty demanding. The standard fabric is a medium weight twill and is perfect for year-round in my part of the world; a slightly heavier weight may be preferred for cold climes' winters. The fabric is heavy enough that I would recommend a slightly larger cut by adding an inch to most of the measurements (maybe not the half shoulder) if taken from a jacket that fits well. You may want to communicate with Indy about this. Keep in mind, a good tailor can always take in a larger fit; letting out won't be possible. Interesting about the flap pockets; in all the photos in "Bond On Set" and MI6 Declassified #3 & #4 I can't pick this up. The standard pocket looks and works quite well. I realize there are a number of less expensive alternatives found by other members and I'm sure they're all fine, but for me this is one cool jacket well worth the investment, and I wouldn't trade it for Armani (which I have) and Tom Ford jackets costing five times as much. Hope this helps.

Is the Tom Ford jacket even possible to buy now?

You cannot buy a navy TF jacket, no.

I posted in another thread regarding the material of the TF jacket. To me it really looks like it's made from Polyester. The fabric looks to have a very similar texture to Polyester.

What is your opinion on that?

I believe this must be correct and I'm not sure if it was ever available. When I was looking for the TF shawl cardigan which I found at a TF boutique within Neiman Marcus, I inquired about the Harrington jacket and was told it was not carried and could not be found even after contacting the TF store in NY.

Jacket looks damned great. But is it me or does the zip fob seem too big? (compared to the original)
