Curse of a Replica Maker

I read this on therpf.com and thought its very fuuny and sometimes true so just want to share it here:

We should start asking for doctor's notes from now on.

This is what I have learned about prop making (when making a large run):

- It will make the prop maker very very ill for many weeks or months.
- It will cause death to a loved one.
- It will cause your one and only computer to crash.
- It will cause your internet to crap out on you.
- It will sometimes cause you to fake your own death.

So if you plan to make a large run of props - please just walk away from the hazards now.

BTW, I am not directing this at anyone. I just thought its a good post.{[]

I think it is only a curse when you take payment upfront.

as I found out 4 years ago with a run of helmets.

8 months of pure hell, a part of my sanity will be forever stuck in my workshop.

Learned a vaulable lesson, make and sell, never take a pre order for a lot of items.

well i only make to commission so.. the list of facts there dont bother me .. :))

well it might do with these new Golden Guns....... however I have an ace up my sleeve ;)

the only one i can think of thats relevant from that list that makes any sense what so ever.. is the health issue... if you are up late lack of sleep perfecting a prototype and using all sorts of chemical processes.. and toxic processes and materials..

wise words, that why i'm not taking payment for my models just incase something goes wrong and i end up having to pay everyone back.
