I know I shouldt really double post but thought I would get more help here:

Im trying to piece together a timeline of when bond would have arrived in certain locations in QoS this is to help with indys ubdated Bond Passport and hoping some of you can help:

Siena, Italy – Was already in Italy from the end of Casino Royale
London, England
Port Au Prince, Haiti
Bregenz, Austria
Talamonne, Italy
La Paz Bolivia – August 23rd 2008 (see Greene Planet Invite)
Kazan, Russia

Thought about this one before...but couldn't get my head around the many 06/08 time distortions. I worked on the FRWL movie timeline with massive research (think 5 years) collecting original vintage reference documents to build my timeline. Admittedly, in FRWL the movie was easier in that there are "date pointers" to anchor the timeline. Thankfully in FRWL the merging of the filming time, the real life time and the movies fictional timeline could be undertaken to deliver a coherent timeline.

The date pointers in QoS makes it harder because of the contradictions so there has to be some artistic licence. For example...

In movie the paolo Siena scenes occur first. But in reality these races are biannual July 2 and Aug 16. (The crew went to Italy from 13–17 May to shoot the Aston PTS at the marble quarry in Carrara and a recreation of the Palio di Siena at the Piazza del Campo in Siena).

The Tosca scenes come after in the movie. The Tosca filming took place at the floating opera stage at Bregenz, Austria from 28 April–9 May 2008. Actual opera season in 2008 ran from April 29th until May 9th, 2008. The Bond team filmed several scenes with DC, DG and Elvis and Olga there. However, the actual Tosca prop tickets issued to actors were dated 20 Aug 2008.

The problem is that the disjointing of the Paolo date and the Tosca date...unless we exercise some discretion to either say the Paolo or Tosca were special one off events to force them to fit the moviee timeline ??? ?:)

I am in a quandry. Hard to see the Paolo been a special date given the local tradition...but given the prop tickets are dated 20/8 I would go against tradition and alter both the Paola date and the real life Tosca season dates to fit the Tosca movie prop date. This would also be consistent with the date on the Greene Planet invite {[]

I don't see any other way around getting the real life dates, filming dates and movie daing references to "agree".

Only feasable explination for the 2006 - 2008 discrepancy is it took him a while to track down Mr White at the end of CR.

Give me a day or so, I have that tix image. Re 2006-2008, its feasible so gap is at end of CR after his talk with M in Venice and before he goes to Lake Como/Mr White. Terrific - {[]

I thought he arrived in Haiti went from the airport to Mr. Slates hotel, killed him then folowed Camille to Kings Quay, had the boat chase followed Greene to the airport and then boarded the charter to Bregenz?

When he arives in Bregenz he is wearing same clothes as the boat chase which makes me think he gets there that same night.

If we assume it took Bond 2 years to track White down after his mobile talk with M on yacht in Venice - it would still fit EON's publicity about QoS taking place 10 mins? after CR - because the 2 year gap occurs before end of CR.

(Ha force fitting - didn't think EON went in for mental gymnastics:))

I don't think the two year gap for tracking White is feasible, the yacht is clearly in the bay when Bond shoots White. Renting that for two years would cost

two weeks is more like it.

Excellent pickup Jonathan. Never saw this. Like I said in earlier post QoS is riddled with dating inconsistencies - across real life dates (Paolio/Tosca concert) and filming dates and fictional dates (as per props). Not to mention Aston is an '08 model as opposed to the CR 06 DB9/DBS mockup. BTW anyone with a black AMEX Centurion/country with civil servants using such cards - is obviously loaded

Simon will have to force fit the info and compromise somewhere.

He has a black amex, he probably bought the yacht and he leaves it behind in favor of his new Aston martin with "08" registration tags!

So maybe there is no explaining the gap but im just trying to figure out the dates in QoS {[]

Right from the airport? Where's his luggage? Bond didn't get on the plane in dreary, raining London wearing that outfit. He seems to have left his gun in whatever abandoned hotel room his change of clothing is sitting in, to boot.

I assume any scene they don't show me is right out of Fleming. Bond got to Haiti the night before, took a shower, ate a ridiculously large meal, took another shower, drank himself to sleep, woke, another shower, huge breakfast and a pot of coffee, possibly one more shower, then a cab over to that crap hotel.

Basically, the producers screwed their own timeline up

Bond sails up to White, but drives off with White in the trunk of a DBS. Both (?) have switched clothing in the meantime. Besides that, like mentioned before, both movies contain dates from the year they were released in. All in all: just believe they are in chronical order :007)

OK, don't shoot me straight away, but is there anything in CR specifically dating it in 2006? Otherwise can't we just say that it was dated in 2008?

Good try but just remembered the mobile phones and the Ocean Club security disc are dated 2006 and current to movie timeline.

With regards to the yacht at Mr.White's villa.
It is not the same yacht as Bond's in Venice.

When Bond check's Vesper's phone and discovers Mr. White's mobile number,the timeline is

The Palio de Siena is 16/August.
The elapsed two years must be akin to poetic licence.

Not so according to this article, which states that Tosca ran between July 23rd and August 23rd 2008 making August 20th an accurate date.

I think maybe you're confusing the filming dates, which were out of season.
