QOS Jeans worn by Bond in Bolivia

Much has been said on the forum regarding the jeans worn in QOS by Craig in Haiti. However what were the jeans he was wearing in the final parts of the movie set in Bolivia? Were these Levi's too or something else?

Anyone know?

    Mister White,

Here's a link to a place that sells the correct 7 jeans that Simon mentioned:

    http://www.tobi.com/product/15262-7-for-all-mankind-standard-straight-leg-jeans-in-mercer-denim-straight-leg?color_id=18240#ref=plroll

Unfortunately, they only have two sizes left.

    Thanks JB1962!

    I appreciate the link!

But I just got a pair off ebay for 24,99 (Pounds unfortunately). Not sure if it is 100% correct, but they are 7 for all mankind in Mercer, and to me they are 'close enough' to wear with my Land's End jacket. :D

Thanks for the heads-up. I asked them about 6 weeks back if they were getting more stock in additional sizes and they told me probably not. Maybe a ploy to get me to buy a different model from them that they suggested? Anyhow, have ordered a couple of pairs to these now.

00 Aussie. Let us know if you receive the correct version. I e-mailed Tobi a couple of days ago as follows

    e-mail:

I see you've just re-stocked with the 7 For All Mankind Standard Straight Leg Jeans in Mercer - 7FMMDNM5190

The pictures on your website show them with the blue rivets and a double belt loop at the back. Do the jeans you have restocked with have these features? I am interested in waist size 31.

I have previously bought the same jeans from you, but with the copper rivets and the single rear belt loop, even though the website pictures showed different. Whilst these were not the features I wanted, I didn't return them, because I live in the UK and also didn't know whether the blue rivet version would ever be available again, as they do not appear on 7 for all mankind's own website.

To confirm, I am only interested if the specific features (blue rivets, double rear belt loops) can be guaranteed. I'm sure you've probably been asked this question before, as these jeans, with these specific features were the ones worn by Daniel Craig as James Bond in Quantum of Solace. But they are very difficult to find. The style should be T519C080U, not T519080U.....I think!!

    Response:

Thank you for your email. The vendor code of the jeans we have is
T519080U - so they seem to not be the ones you are looking for. I am
sorry about that. Let me know if there is anything else we can help
    you with!

Does someone has pictures of the wrong buttons one and the right buttons one so that I can know what to buy?

    Is one of them close?

The first is the right one. I bought it when the movie came out. I tried to buy one more pair recently and in the shops I only found the model with metal colour button and rivets but the fabric and shape are the same.

Wow, so the first one REALLY is the exact same? B-)

The first pair is the closest of the two you posted, but it's not the exact style worn in the film. Those were "Standard" not "Slimmy" fit. But even the pairs of Standard in Mercer that I've seen at a few stores recently are not the same as those worn in the film. See the posts above to see the minor details that changed.

But the pair of Slimmys that you posted may be the closest thing that you can get now as the styles change pretty frequently.

Either are probably a close match. I would ultimatly buy which ever ones you would be most comfortable wearing. By the way, I never noticed that fade in the color before.
  • toutbruntoutbrun Washington, USAPosts: 1,501MI6 Agent
I think I like the skinnier anyway, because I'm not ripped like Daniel Craig, I can't fill them. If it was Pierce, he'd wear skinny too.

What I wonder is about the details changing. I looked at the other threads and I hear a lot of people talking about buttons color, but the fact is I don't understand what is the difference between my first and the real one.

    Bruno,

I've copied in Simon's post from a thread on the subject:

You can get the standard in mercer wash from Tobi:

Thanks. So that makes my first one 100% accurate since the button is not metal. Right?

No, the ones you're looking for are the cut in the link on the Tobi website I provided which are 'standard' not 'slimmy'.

The ones in the film had a blue button & double belt loops in the centre at the rear but they don't make them like that now so the ones Tobi sell are the closest option.

It seems quite of few of the members on here have got their's through the Tobi website, I think Mantis got his from them and they provide information through a chat link with their stylist Cathy.

    Hope this is helpful mate.

I'd advise going one size down on the waist as they run quite large, if you're a 34 I'd go for the 33.

They look like the Levi's Sta-Prest but not sure if the colour is correct Bruno.

    Are they yours?

Pictures I found on the Internet.

About the 7 mankind jeans, I would suggest NOT to buy them online. I just went to Holt Renfrew here in Montreal to try the Mercer in Standart, and you really have to be huskier than skinner for them to fit you. They are made for guys like Daniel Craig, or like the saleswoman said, for hockey players. You need very large legs for them to fit you.

I would suggest Nudie Jeans, from Sweden and made in Italy, that are more on the European coupe, made for skinner people, or Prada, which I bought. The jeans I bought were made in Romania, unfortunately, but they are very very nice and fit me a lot better than the 7, which again, I urge you to try before you buy them.

I found the 7 For All Mankind 'standard' fit quite tight on my legs.

Nudie jeans are great and very good prices, I have the 'Big Bengt' style which are a 'carrot' fit meaning they are looser on the thighs and have a taper from below the knee.
