Who Shot First?

Maybe I'm a little slow and it was obvious to everyone else (including Mrs. Shaken66) but as many times as I've seen QOS, I thought Bond got his shot off at Mitchell first. Watching and listening closely again, I think I hear an almost imperceptible click from Mitchell's presumably empty gun with the camera on him before cutting to Bond. Any thoughts/validations? ?:)
"How did he die?"

Sorry, couldn't help myself.... ;%
But as it was pointed out in a western (could have been Unforgiven, but not sure), it's not who shoots first that counts, it's who hits the target.
Im pretty sure Bond shot first. and Mitchell didnt get a shot off in time.
That's what I thought and when I challenged Mrs. Shaken66 about the convenient plot device of an empty gun she counted out six shots (assuming Mitchell also used a Walther): one killing the standing agent, one at M, the misfire at Mr. White, two at Bond in the tower, and presumably the one cited by Bond to M as killing the agent outside when Mitchell did the perimeter check. It does add up and I hate that she might be right! X-(
"Your contact?" "Not well."
That would be 15 rounds in the clip.

As for who fired first, I am pretty sure that Bond fired before Mitchell could inspite of the PPK being on the floor while the SIG 226 that Mitchell used was on top of a cement bag on the scaffold, and closer for him to grab. Even with the sound of the gunshot being louder than normal, the fact that the camera only showed the viewer Bond's point of view is astrong clue to me that Mitchell was too slow to after picking his gun to get off a shot before Bond killed him.
