in Quantum of Solace - Bond 22 (2008)
Quantum of Solace takes place 42 minutes after Casino Royale right? If that's the case they should've filmed both movies back to back because every actor who returns from Casino Royale looks like they're at least a year older.

    To be fair speeding round Italy in a fairly destroyed Aston Martin whilst being constantly shot at would certainly make me look a year older, at the very least!

    MGW said it 'followed on from' CR...and I've heard "it's set about an hour after"....but never 42 mins. Where did you hear that from ?

    No. I guess that's an American programme.

    MGW has also said that QoS follows on from CR by five minutes....so who knows.

    Well there's a website called At The Movies and they uploaded their review of Quantum of Solace so if you're interested why don't you go watch it?

    Even though I strongly disagree with that statement I respect it completely, I think its pretty great how diverse peoples opinions are regarding James Bond.

    All opinions should be respected after all we all love Bond,But QOS being better than all RM Bond films.IMNO LALD is a classic film the croc stunt simply great,the ski jump in TSWLM another classic cinema moment,the spiral car jump TMWTGG,The brillant set design of Ken Adam TSWLM and MR.
    The fantastic villans Mr Big, Stromberg,Hugo Drax.
    To put all this up against
    One badly filmed generic car chase
    Another rooftop foot chase
    A fight on ropes ( left over from CR )
    A plot thinner than a piece of tissue paper
    A henchman so weak even my daughter could of delt with him.
    A villan who seems no threat to Bond
    A boat chase which clearly has a couple of insert shots missing.
    Arerial work that looks more from the A-Team
    All in all a pretty Poor effort IMHO
    Even the theme music is Crap compared too
    LALD,TSWLM,MR.
    Sure some of RM's Bond are the weakest of the series But IMHO so is QOS even the jump from the plane was filmed better back in 79.Now if you had said CR was better than Moore's seven I might of agreed with you.;)
    But I do agree with you on the 42 minutes and Bond changing his clothes etc ,once again it comes down to poor film making.

    Well considering that Quantum of Solace is the first direct sequel in the series and considering how it pretty much picks up right where Casino Royale left off I'd say that Quantum is apart of Royale because you really need to know the plot of CR to appreciate the plot of QOS. And those two films really should be watched back to back and in order.

    I agree that they need to be watched back to back.

    But saying QOS is better than all RM together is a bit of a stretch for me.

    However I do find QOS better than all RM movies individually. Also I noticed that if I have the option to buy something for my collection from QOS or from one of the RM movies, I'll allways go for something from QOS.

    But that applies to anything from Brozzer's movies as well... :v

    Perhaps the film makers should of taken a little more care when making their sequal as you pointed out jimmybond0129,It starts 42 minutes after CR yet he's got a diffrent suit.If the long term plan was to make Casino Royale Part 2,IMHO they failed.QOS is not a patch on CR.It's not just poor Bond Film ,it's a poor action film.
    I watched it again last night with some fast forwarding and the odd skip of a scene I did it in 20 minutes.There is something about this movie that I don't get or am missing because unlike what seems the majority of members It does nothing for me, I feel it's an empty movie.
    But Ill take on board all the comments from the fans of it and keep on trying to see it's good points. :#

    It certainly would have been better if they'd put Bond in the same suit as the final scene of CR; that would have made sense. Who knows why such things happen---They didn't pay attention? They didn't care? Seems it has to be one of the two...

    Most people know my postion on QoS: It's CR's angry and misunderstood little brother ;) It certainly has its issues, and I can well understand why it isn't for everyone. There's a certain unapologetic velocity to it.

    I'm a fan, but I hope they make some adjustments for the next one.
