Indeed. Such a pity that Ian Fleming only saw the rushes for the film and did not live to see the phenomenal success of the film and the advent of Bondmania.

Sadly, you can never go back, but I can still remember the excitement when
Christmas or a big Bank holiday was coming up. Sitting almost glued to ITV
During the ad breaks waiting for the big movie trailer, just to catch a glimpse
Of whatever new Bond they'd be showing ! )

Yes, though I am a bit younger I had that feeling too watching Bond films in the 1990s. I used to take written notes of what happened so sad was I! And these were the days, kids, when Bond films were rarely on TV and it was probably all the better for it!

) I used to think I was the Only one who ( this was before videos, yes I am that old ) used to
tape the films off the TV ( Audio tape), then listen to them in my bedroom ) , Although a few other
members have said they did the same thing. ) even ( Audio ) taping them in the cinema. {[]

I audio taped TLD when it was shown on UTV in 1993 - I still have it. I was so silly back then I kept rewinding the cassette tape thinking it would record in the new but of course it just taped over it! I still have the recording along with my late Dad telling me to go to bed! I have the part where Bond fights Whitaker to the end credits preserved on a tape. )

, Yes I still have some of my tapes, and yes you can hear The likes of my Mun or Gran in the background
even the sound of my Gran's old Chiming clock, every 15 blooming minutes. )

My first Exposure to Bond during the late 90's was on ITV -{
1.On Her Majesties Secret Service 2.The Living Daylights 3.license To Kill 4.The Spy Who Loved Me 5.Goldfinger
I sometimes try and imagine what it must have been like for the old coggers
On AJB, to have seen it for the first time, way, way back in the old days ! )
Seriously as someone here pointed out Goldfinger actually started a whole new
Film genre ! Not many movies get to do that. {[]

I was a wonderful and memorable experience that has remained with me my entire life. Based on what I sometimes hear from younger folks, I'm guessing it was akin to what many youngsters felt the first time they saw Star Wars in theaters.
I thought that was an old story and was later discredited as it emerged
He had helped several Jewish families, as Goldfinger was going to be banned
In Israel. ?
