Lava Lamps in James Bond - Please help ...

Hello folks! Sorry if this is a newbie question but I am new here ...

I recently came across your great website when trying to find some information on lava lamps that were featured in Vintage James Bond films. I run a website dedicated to the history of vintage lava lamps: www.flowoflava.com and was wondering if you had any clues as to where I may find these lamps featured in a vintage Bond film. In New York times article regarding the life of the inventor of the lava lamp, this was seen: These lamps were invented in 1963 so I would think they would be in a 1960s and 1970s film, however I can't find any in the films I have seen.

Mr. Walker's slogan at the time was, ''If you buy my lamp, you won't need drugs,'' and the lamp soon became a fixture on the psychedelic scene. It was featured on style-minded television shows like ''The Avengers'' and ''The Prisoner.'' Mr. Walker himself consulted on a James Bond film that showed gigantic Lava lamps as the four posters of a bed.

I would like to thank you for your help and all help is kindly appreciated. Can anyone think of the film they are refering too.

Best Wishes,

Hi, my friend was into lava lamps in his university years.

But while I may be wrong, I do not think lava lamps have been in ANY James Bond films. The closest you get would be the look of some of the Maurice Binder credits from Thunderball onwards, in particular 1981's For Your Eyes Only springs to mind. 1969's OHMSS features an egg timer, which isn't quite the same, but may account for some confusion!

Otherwise they may been in Bond spoofs, and possibly Barbarella? The Derek Flint films? I don't know!

As for the bed with lava lamps, this doesn't ring any bells unless it was in the spoof 1967 film Casino Royale, which is entirely possible.
