    Welcome to AJB, 00Baxter! {[]

    I think that the unconventional choice (at the time) of Daniel Craig has paid off magnificently for Eon---opinions will vary ;)

    But I think they could've done far worse than Hugh Jackman. I think he could have done a smashing Bond...and still might, although chances fade with each passing year. The man can transition from song-and-dance to Wolverine---and does each of them very well. I won't be the one to say he's incapable of being James Bond; perhaps his already-existing marquee status made him too expensive for them out of the starting gate.

    As it stands, I expect Craig to do another couple, and then perhaps Henry Cavill takes over. But I'd be most interested to see what Jackman could do in the tux.

    Well the finale of Swordfish has Jackman done up in Connery's Goldfinger attire (brown suit) and looking good, it's a Bond-like finale too as he is held hostage and must observe the villain pulling off his dastardly stunt.

    Jackman may have been too old and established to be novice Bond in CR, however. Too well known anyway, Craig's newness aided him in that respect.

    I don't know why you find it shocking to have Jackman as Bond, though he does err on the camp side of things and that was cited against him at the time, too 'fey'.

    It wouldn't of been so bad, not as bad as if they had Clive Owen 8-)

    You know what though? Let's get lateral.
    Hugh Jackman for a Bond bad guy. Now that would be seriously bloody cool.
    It worked well for Sean Bean.
    I'll mention it to Hugh next time I see him. -{

    I wouldn't have been shocked at all if Jackman had been hired as Bond; I think he would have been terrific, and far superior to Craig. He was not my first choice, however because I was hoping that another particular actor would play Bond:

    :o Owen is exactly whom I wanted to replace Brosnan, who was my all-time second favourite Bond. I think that Owen would have been incredible, and after seeing Sin City, my feelings were confirmed. He's a fantastic actor IMO, suave, dangerous, great looking but also interesting looking, terrific in action scenes and I think he could have been one of the all-time great Bonds. :D

    I think Clive Owen was brilliant in The International, he got the part spot on. Nervous, scared who wouldn't be really? Also damn good fun in Duplicity.
    But when it comes to Bond, Daniel Craig is 24 carat, 100%, Perfect 10 nailing that part down. He's my No.1 Bond. It's great to have a blonde in the part finally.

    So what about some bad guy suggestions? Serious ones that have Bond's training, guile and talent, I mean Greene Planet and Quantum are threats to Bond, but neither Dominic Greene or Mister White are a personal threat in a dark alley are they? {:)

    I admit that I am really not a fan of Hugh Jackman, but I don't think he could have been the worst choice. I mean, I remember reading an article way back when they announced looking for a new Bond and which Ben Affleck was actually considered at one point, which would certainly be a bigger mistake than Jackman.

    Ben Affleck? That would have been suicide for Eon. Whatever next? Ben Stiller?
