    i'd assume bond's seen drinking 6 'vesper's the ingredients can be found by watching CR and paying attention to the casino scenes where bond first orders the drink.

    i believe its along the lines of;

    Three measures 90-proof gin
    One measure vodka
    One-half measure Kina Lillet (Lillet Blanc)

    more info can be found here;

    Gents, you may be interested in this thread from a few months ago.

    I am a Vesper convert now, and managed a healthy six of the beasts on my birthday night out. I find bartenders generally love the challenge of making a good one. In fact as soon as I explained my order to the girl behind the bar, she smiled said "ah the Bond one" then went and got her colleague who knew exactly where I was coming from and proceeded to supply me with the most smooth and delicious cocktail you can imagine, throughout the night. He even kept the price cool, what with it being my birthday.
    Unless you have the constitution of a goat do go steady though. I worked up to the Bond six, with a few practise runs, and BIG meal and pint of milk. -{ -{ -{ -{ -{ -{

    Enjoy.

    being as i'm a lightweight, i'd assume one sniff of a vesper would knock me out.

    Vesper's are lovely - the only problem is getting hold of the Lillet Blanc as it's not sold in most supermarkets, and it's generally only specialist wine stores that sell it.

    You can get it over the internet, and if anyone is interested I can find the web address of the person I used, but you have to order a min of 4 bottles I think.

    They are worth it though -{

    GQ magazine recommended adding a dash of quinine powder, to restore some of the now-gone 'Kina' to the Lillet Blanc...but I use a dash of bitters instead; does the trick -{

    I found a bottle of Lillet Blanc at Christmas time at my local liquor specialty store. It's going to take me five years to drink an entire bottle of it...a half-measure at a time :s

    I actually use more than 1/2 a measure - as I like the slightly orangy taste of the Kinet - I have to say, my bottle is now half gone, (I bought it just after Casino Royale came out on DVD) - not sure if I should be confessing to that or not :)) - but I have to have one every time I watch CR - (when he orders one), and I do like watching the film ;)

    The Martini Contains:

    lillet.jpg

    And if you look carefully in the plane you can see in the background all of the above drinks.
    Also, does anyone know what Leiter was drinking in that Bar before the CIA chase Bond.
    It looks like a Vodka Cruiser:

    Has anyone identified the brand of wine that Bond and Mathis drink when they are at Mathis' chateau?

    As Mathis's girlfriend said he only buys cheap wine.... :D
