lol thanks, TSA...it would be well received.

I would eat ramen, but the MSG makes my stomach yell at me, and I keep forgetting to buy rice when I'm at the store 8-)

Father-in-law's 60th today and I'm doing the catering. I've marinaded a whole beef sirloin (about 30 lbs) in black pepper corns, sea salt, garlic, bay, anchoivies (yes, you heard right!), horseradish and ale. I've made a steel spike to thread it through (about 3 feet of meat!) and I'm cooking it over a fire-pit and serving with cheese & chive bread, soda-bread, wholemeal and sunflower bread and a whole load of relishes/sauces/mustards. :D

Usually the Cornish autumns are cold, dry and you can just about get away with a b-b-q if everyone wraps up warm and stays near the fire. I've done all the preparation, got everything just about done with my £200 beef joint, and now it's just started snowing... :#

Mrs. Loeffelholz is cooking a duck today, as well as garlic-butter chicken---with stuffing, green been casserole, chipoltle-cranberry sauce (the 'sweet heat'!), sweet potatoes and mixed vegetables. Breakfast was homemade biscuits and gravy...with a beer chaser :v Not so bad, though, since breakfast happened at 11:30 am :))

Wow! That must have been one hell of a big fryer! :))

My b-b-q roast went ok in the end, the snow didn't stick and I built an extra large bonfire to keep everyone warm!

They actually make deep fryers big enough for Turkeys. We had a 10 pound Turkey and used about 3 1/2 t or 4 gallons of Peanut oil. We deep fried it for about 35 minutes. It probably go of gone for a couple minutes less. Oh well, it was still good.

The deep fryer looked something like this:
