2009 BMW Z4 vs Aston Martin DBS

IMO, the dbs was perfect, the z4 is nice, but not for bond and the one-77 is too flashy and expensive for bond's company car.

ok, so i'm massively bias towards Aston Martin. I admit, i live, sleep, breathe AM and hoepfully one day, i'll even own one. But for me, the bmw era, with the z3, the 750i and the z8 just didn't work. Ok, the z8 was a flash motor and not at all cheap, and beemers have always had a good quality vibe about them.

trouble is though, in my mind anyways, i always believe bond should be behind the wheel of an english motor. The guy's quintessentially (did i spell that right? prob not) english and so is AM. Plus, to be honest, i don't think anyone makes a more gorgeous car than AM. i think my favourite has to be the vanquish s, but put up against bmw, AM is simply in a different league.

it'd be like swapping micheal schumaker's fezza for a pugeot, or lewis hamilton's maclaren for a williams. its something that could happen, but it just wouldn't feel right.

if there is an alternative, i think it should be bentley. they've got the connection already, its an english motor and the cars are quite nice. the only major issue i have with bentley is they don't make a quick enough car. i think the continental gt weighs nearly 2 and a half tonnes, which is massively excessive when compared against the 1578kg curb weight of the aston martin dbs.

so all in all, i say stick with the aston dbs for bond 23. the one-77 is nice but too pricey, and lets face it, AM aint gonna let EoN smash a few of them up.

and i'm sorry bmw, but ya just not right for the job.

I agree 100%. But I think the DB5 (imo) is slightly better than DBS..... Hell who am I kidding I'd be happy with either.:))

For Bond 23 either the DBS again or the new V12 Vantage. One 77 is way too limited and expensive to have in a movie that will prob smash it up, if not maybe it would be possible alas the BMW Z3 in GE. BMW's are nice but not right for Bond and the new Z4 doesn't hold a candle to the DBS in performance or looks.

The Z4's smoothed-out styling is a definite improvement over the Z3 and would be perfect for my wife, but for Bond, I don't think so. The Continental GT Speed, despite its weight, would definitely give the DBS a run for its money but in Beverly Hills, where Continentals are more prevalent than Toyotas, I believe there is a rule that you must be over age 65 to own one.

The reason I reckon the BMW "would" be a good car is because it's design is like, (imo) at least fromm the side view, looks like a aston martin DBS.

The 2009 AS DBS is a convertible:

Convertibles are nice but I just can't imagine Bond in one.
Convertibles is more of a car that a person in their early 20's would drive, Bond is supposed to be in his late 30's it would just not go, but this is just my opinion what do you guys think?
