Sad to hear of the death of the former Liberal Democrat Leader Charles Kennedy at the early age of 55. Condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. He seems to have been a thoroughly decent and principled man.

Sad to hear about the death of Charles Kennedy. Always a great guest on
any politics programme and he had his own personal struggle with alcohol.
55 seems very young. RIP Charles Kennedy.

Sadly missed. I wonder if things for his party might have been different if he'd remained leader?

Sad to hear of the death of the actor Richard Johnson, who played Bulldog Drummond in a few films in the 1960s. He was a contender for the Bond role, too.

Richard Johnson was apparently on the Bond shortlist when DN was being cast. He did go on to star in one of the best Bond knock-offs, the ridiculously entertaining 'Deadlier Than the Male.' Johnson was also very good in in 1963's 'The Haunting', perhaps the most intelligent haunted house film ever made. (His character's wife in the movie was played by Lois Maxwell.)

I'm saddened to read this morning that actor Ron Moody has passed away. Oliver was one of my favourite films as a child. He was a great Fagin. RIP.

RIP Ron Moody. His Fagin is one of my all-time favourite characters.

It is a double-sad day, as I have just seen online that Christopher Lee has also left us. Obviously most of us will remember him primarily as Scaramanga, but his cinematic legacy can be matched by few actors. His iconic work with Hammer studios is a major part of that, as well as his later work in Lord of the Rings and Star Wars.

Sad to hear of the death of Sir Christopher Lee. His step-cousin Ian Fleming wanted him to play Dr. No but he later went on to play one of the best villains in the series in the underrated gem TMWTGG.

Sad too to hear of the passing of Ron Moody. I really enjoyed his performance as the aptly named Richard Pratt in the Tales of the Unexpected episode 'Taste'. Well worth a look as it's a brilliant episode.

A sad day for British cinema. :#
