I was sad to read in The Times through the week that the famous Russian poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko had died of cancer aged 83 on 1 April 2017. His famous poem 'Babi Yar' is quoted at the start of John Gardner's The Man From Barbarossa (1991).
Mr Rickles was always nice to his fans , wrote him twice and he sgd my posters

Heard on BBC Radio 4 that actor Tim Piggott-Smith had died aged 70. He played the Foreign Secretary in QoS. They played an excerpt from his King Charles III play. Sad news.

Can anyone remember what part Tim Piggott Smith played in the first Johnny English Movie? I seem to remember it was similar to M. Sad to hear that yet another great actor has passed away - R.I.P.
Kung fu star Philip Ko (1949 - 2017) , played one of Hans guards in Enter Dragon.

Very sad to hear about Fred Weintrub's passing, Enter The Dragon is one of my favorite action movies along with the James Bond series. Still 88 is a good run and to have had the career he did as a music and film producer is exceptional.

He played Pegasus, was a parody of the M character, Gillan Andersen played a similiar character in the Johnny English sequel.
Such a good actor. RIP

RIP Clifton James...what a long life though despite the stress that Bond gave him in Louisiana and Bangkok {[]

Jonathan Demme, just 73. Very sad. TSOTL is an all-time favorite of mine, but just one of many fine movies he directed. Always a great user of music in his films.
I switched the radio on yesterday and caught the tail end of the news, where they were speaking about the Duke in the past tense ("...he did this and that... he was a patron of many charities...") and thought they were announcing his death. Was quite relieved to find he was just retiring!

Yes, me too actually. Heard it on the car radio on my work break and wondered what had happened!

Sad to hear of the death of the lovely Daliah Lavi. She brightened up CR '67.
