I heard/saw this poem read last night...read by the author Tony Walsh...if you can find him reading it out then do so...I'm not ashamed to say I had a lump in my throat and fought back the tears...

Manchester! This is the place in the North West of England

Yes, I heard that read our on BBC Radio Ulster a few days ago at the end of the evening news report. Brilliant stuff and a great tribute to the great city of Manchester and its people.

Just remembered... a childhood memory was of our family heading down to near Brighton to get to see the Blue Peter team doing the London to Brighton veteran car rally, as made famous in the classic film Genevieve. This would have been about 1976 or so, and it was John Noakes, Peter Purvis and Lesley Judd.
I think we got to see them around Preston Park. There were hardly any crowds or indeed anyone else there and we handed them wrappered sweets, for which they were suitably grateful as they trundled along in the car in a sort of traffic jam.
We didn't get autographs, didn't think to really, it didn't matter to us and they were charming and with no side, quite natural. What seems wholly odd looking back on it was that there was no security that I recall, nothing at all, not even TV cameras! It was just them in the car, with Peter Purvis looking hot and pissed off because it seemed the car wasn't working that well. It really did, looking back, seem like a case of, off you go then, the camera crew will pick you up in Brighton... Different days.
For me, Noakes, Purvis and Judd were the best, as Val was a bit before my time, but top people all of them.
Yes so has Angela Scoular, who was one of the angels of death in ohmss, but I can't remember if her character was a bond girls or not? she died an awful death.

Sad to hear of the death of Molly Peters. The girls of Thunderball were the sexiest in the Bond series.

Yeah, she was a good one, because she looked almost girl next door, okay not really, but she wasn't the usual cheekboned long-haired lovely. She had a touch of the Dinah Sheridan about her, very English but in an encouraging, warm way, not like Miranda Frost of DAD etc.
She sure livened up the first half of Thunderball, for us as well as Bond.

I've been leafing through/reading Margaret Mitchell's Gone With The Wind of late. The prose is superb.
Anyway, it's amazing that Olivia de Havilland, who played Melanie Wilkes, is still alive at 100, many decades after the passing of her co-stars Leslie Howard (enemy fire in WW2), Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh.
I do hope this post doesn't jinx things, but it is kind of astonishing, as the film belongs to another era.

I really believe he tried to help Presley but how can you help someone that doesn't want help ?

Depends on who you are classing as a Bond girl - Zena "Miss Taro" Marshall passed a few years ago and I would count her as a Bond girl...
She slept with Bond. So i'd count her as one.
