Someone just discribed Hefner as "The Walt Disney of soft porn". Perhaps he was?

Las Vegas sadly lost at least 50 people in a horrible terror attack last night. My thoughts go out to them, their families and the entire city.

This has been truly horrifying to see unfold, the casualties are huge, and perpetrated by a 64 year old man??? My deepest sympathies go out, to everyone concerned and our American cousins.

This one shook me. Can't say I'm a massive Petty fan but I know what I like: American Girl and - Full Moon Fever wasn't it? The album came out in 1989 as I travelled the States on my Gap Year. I had it on cassette in my Walkman, along with Macca's Flowers in the Dirt. Some really good stuff on it.

Also The Travelling Wilbury's of course. All good stuff, Tom was a very benign presence. I know he's had some massively acclaimed LPs recently, however.

I have never been as upset by any musical death as I was by this one. I think it's because I am a massive Petty fan. But also because it came on the heels of Las Vegas, and I was already glum.

RIP Tom, thanks for scoring most of my life. Hope you're free-fallin' in a better place.

Also saddened by Sean Hughes death, not seen or heard from him for years so to hear of his passing at such a young age was a shock...

PS - TP, best not to post in this thread when you are quoting that particular sig ;)

A couple of notable passings--Roy Dotrice, the fine actor famous for playing Mozart's father in Amadeus and who appeared in the second season of Game of Thrones, has passed on at the ripe old age of 94. And fans of the Canadian comedy Trailer Park Boys will be sad to hear that Mr. Lahey himself, John Dunsworth, has died at 71. RIP both.

Sad to learn Karin Dor has left us. It was probably her (I was at an impressionable age when I first saw YOLT) that started my, er, interest ;% in redheads.
