OBE's - Out of Body Experiences/Sleep Paralysis

A rather bizarre topic for me to be posting but I was wondering if anybody had any experiences or knolwege regarding 'Out of Body Experiences'
The reason I ask is because at around 10 o'clock this evening I decided to go to bed early (rather than the usual 3am) so I could rise bright and early to enjoy the day. I tried to drif toff on several occasions but kept waking up seconds later, after 3 or 4 times whenever my eyes got heavy and began to close this visceral buzzing/grinding sound bellowed through my ears and I kept getting this surreal feeling - like I wasn't in my body.
This happened every time I tried to get to sleep nad I became quite scared and worried, even got to the point where I was scared to fall asleep but I couldn't control it, the final time it happened when I began to open my eyes again and saw a huge spider crawling across my wall next to my bed, me being afraid of spiders (well anything with more than 4 legs) I wanted to run out my bedroom but I couldn't move, at least for a few seconds (which seemed like hours), finally I managed to move again and I darted out the room shouting 'Oh God!!!'
I haven't been back to my room yet, I'm not even sure if the spider was real or whether it was part of the experience but either way I'm on the couch tonight.
I was looking on the web trying to find information about what the whole thing was, mainly the noise that started it and I cam across a guy who had a similar experience, noise and all, alot of replies mentioned that it was probably an OBE, so I looked it up on wikipedia and found out that it also has some connections with sleep paralysis.
So basically I was wondering if anyone has any more information, for example, will this be a regular thing now or is it likely to be a one off? Also has anyone had any other sorts of OBE/Sleep Paralysis?
I look forward to reading your comments.

So long as it's not an 'out of doors' experience... {:)
To give your question the rather more serious consideration it deserves, scott, I'm sure there are any number of resources on the web where you can inquire about such things... Have you googled it?
